Damn, you must be a psychic! Yea, obviously they are gonna heal quicker, they are some of the best conditioned people in the world, have some of the best health care and therapy in the world, and have a hell of a higher pain tolerance than most.
Here's what Dave Hutchinson reported on Eric Smith this morning, but it's a little confusing, because he mentions the injury as a hamstring, yet, further on down in the Injury Report, Smith is listed as out because of Right Knee: http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1186633728200720.xml&coll=1&thispage=2 WHO'S HOT WR Justin McCareins, CB David Barrett and NT Sione Pouha, who missed all last season with a knee injury, continue to look sharp. WHO'S NOT G Nick Smith took yet another punishment lap and got an earful from offensive line coach Tony Wise. ... CB Drew Coleman was beaten for a pair of TDs and was also called for a pass interference penalty. QUICK HITS Coach Eric Mangini refused to say how long the veterans would play against the Falcons tomorrow, claiming it depends on the flow of the game. ... The Jets took advantage of the early morning thunder showers by practicing on a muddy field to get players acclimated to such conditions. ... No news on the Darrelle Revis holdout (13 days, 17 practices). ERIC SMITH GOES DOWN The Jets suffered the second hamstring injury in their secondary in four days when S Eric Smith was hurt in the morning session. He injured his right hamstring and was carted off the field. He was at the evening practice working on the side with the other injured players. On Sunday, CB Justin Miller injured his right hamstring. Coach Eric Mangini didn't give any details on Smith's condition. Smith had injured his right knee earlier in camp. Smith, a second-year pro, was covering FB Stacey Tutt in a seven-on-seven drill when he was hurt trying to break up a pass in the corner of the end zone. Tutt made a nice catch despite blanket coverage by Smith. Smith was having an outstanding camp after a so-so rookie season. He is the third safety behind starters Kerry Rhodes and Erik Coleman. INJURY REPORT CB Justin Miller (right hamstring), TE Joe Kowalewski (right leg/hamstring) and S Eric Smith (right knee) are out. None is expected to play against the Falcons. DEPTH CHART After starting guards Brandon Moore and Adrien Clarke, the Jets have no depth if they trade or released unhappy veteran Pete Kendall. Perhaps that's why they're holding on to him. Veteran C/G Wade Smith is an option, but after that the Jets have a host of rookie free agents.
In college he missed I think his sophomore year because of a torn meniscus in his left knee. Hopefully this isnt as severe.
Unfortunately I am working for the Nationals during that game. I might still try to take the game off but as of right now I am not able to go. Its unfortunate too because M&T is a 10 minute walk away but the Baltimore fans are pretty brutal to opposing team fans. Nice too see some more Jets fans in the area. The one good thing is that in Federal Hill there is a bar called No Idea which is a Jets bar. I will most likely be there if I have a sunday off. Youth
That's the best you can do? If your gonna take a shot back at me then feel free too but, atleast come up with something other than tool. Be a little more original you tool lol. Youth
meanwhile, back on thread. Aug 9 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star Ledger, reports New York Jets FS Eric Smith (hamstring) is expected to miss the team's first preseason game.
NOOOOOO! Curse you ...I was looking forward to seeing extensive reps with Smith rockin fools heads to bed. Damn.
The BEST we can hope for it a strained quad. The bad, a torn PCL, ACL, LCL, or any combination. edit after reading page 4: Looks like we're getting damn thin in the safety
This picture wil stay up until the first time Clemens starts. This was one of the first pictures taken of him during Mini camp last year. I love this picture and will keep it up until I see his number on the field starting. Dont get my wrong I love Chad but im pulling for Clemens to be the future. Youth
