Yep, good sign. Now we'll have to see if he comes back out this evening and and is performing any activities on the sidelines. I believe next practice is at 6:30.
actually, he's pushing for the starting job, so you're underestimating the importance of injury to him. no season's not over, but at least realize that he may be the starter alongside Rhodes.
I rolled my ankle (sprained it really badly), and I have to tell you, my right ankle wasn't the same for 6 months. In terms of time of recovery, the doctor told me I would have been better off breaking the freakin' thing. Not trying to be negative, but it all depends on what we're up against.
This is a clueless comment just so you know. The importance in the NFL now a days is depth and being able to deal with injuries. So regardless of his position or whether he is a starter or backup this is a significant injury. On another note apparently you choose not to pay attention to the entire team. Smith has been battling vs Coleman for the starting position, and Smith has been playing very well. Smith also received time playing towards the end of last season and began to shine. Stop being a tool, and allow everyone to have a legit discussion about this without your uneducated response. Youth
you know i really liked coleman his rookie year and thought he could be a great player...then he just did not look great last year at all, especially with Rhodes showing him (and everyone else in the league almost) up. so i was pretty excited when i heard smith was playing very well, so i am really hoping that this isn't serious...particularly with revis not at camp and the other corners injured, we NEED good safeties
Youth... good one. Tools need to be called out. BTW, I live in north Jersey but have a duplex rental down on LBI. We're down there just about every wekend, except when the Jets are playing up here in the Meadowlands. If you ever need any tickets, let me know and I'll see if I'm going to use them. It would be easy enough for us to hook up.
Appriciate the offer but my family owns season tickets for around 8 seats. I have no problem getting into a game if I need too. But I dont make it to the games much anymore since I now live in Baltimore and work for sports television so most Sunday I am working for the Redskins or Ravens. But I gladly took some time off to see week 1 against Brady's Bunch. Youth
I'm cool with that. I saw Barnegat, NJ and figured you were still a local at the shore. I love Ocean County, especially LBI. Not too many Jets fans down there though. If I go into Kubel's Too to watch a Jets game, it's always loaded with "Iggles" fans.
Hey Youth, I'm down in this area too. I work in Owings Mills and live in Laurel. I assume you'll be in Baltimore Week 2? The company I worked with for 5 years MedStar Health is the official helaht system and orthopaedic surgery group for the Ravens so I went to a few Ravens games on the arm.
Well yeah it's not the same but you can still use it, just don't expect cuts or anything. I'm not even 100% from just a contusion on my patella from six months ago. I can't make hard cuts with my right knee still, but you can bet your arse I can still do most other things. What I was trying to say was that he may still be able to play. Unless he's torn something he won't be going on IR/PUP. We may just have to wait until later in the season or maybe even next season for him to earn that starting spot.
Same here, sprained/strained mine in late May and it still gets tweaked very easily anytime I play any sports or if I take an awkward step onto some stairs or something. Doc said it would take 4-6 weeks to heal and not to do any excersize or anything on it in that time, and crutches for 2 weeks. Unfortunately I played softball on it 3 days later and gave up the crutches after a few hours. Big fuckin mistake
A very uneducated statement indeed. This guy was a serious contender for the starting position and was viewed by many as an upgrade over Coleman. He was making good hits and picking off passes thus far. Not to mention that he came on very strong last year in limited play towards the 2nd half of our schedule. I guess that you are happy with our present depth of Rashad Washington and the guy who delivers pizza to the dorms? OMFG.
Ankle I'm assuming neither of you guys are professional football players - noted from the softball comment. These guys tend to heal a little quicker due to their conditioning. Let's just see how it plays out but it looks like Smith will be back in a few days.
Today's Star-Ledger reports that it's a hamstring (right leg)... said he was seen on the sidelines doing light work in the afternoon practice (bicycle, I think). Let's hope this is something he can heal up quickly.
Good news! Hopefully he'll be back in action pushing Coleman for his job soon. This will give KOZ's Pizza delivery guy more time to study his route to Brick's room to help him keep his weight up.
Unfortunately, this doesn't convince me either way. I remember last year when Pouha was busted up, he was on the bike for a few days and then BAMM, IR!
