Hey everyone, i am starting college at university of florida this year. my parents always had the nfl package with directv while i lived at home, but now that i wont be there anymore i dont know how im going to watch jets games. does anyone know anyway that i can watch the games besides going to a bar?
This one could be tough. I heard the name of it before but now I'm at a loss of what it is. Nevertheless, what you can get is a hook-up with your laptop to pull the feed that your parents' DirecTV has and then hook your TV up to a larger screen, of possible. It's an expensive process and a complicated one. Better yet, use that piece of gold AKA the fake ID I pray you have before you get to college and go to the bar with the ticket. Worse comes to worse, let the bouncer know you're just there to watch the game and you'll buy him wings. Good luck and have fun, dude.
most likely on campus housing.. And its gainesville... there still 20 years behind the rest of us.
How does Spot Cast work?...I went to the site and found the Jets-Falcons game for Friday, but when I click the link it either says that it doesn't work or that Firefox can't open it......do I need a program?
I went there man...that's where the problem starts...what do u do from here, cuz I clicked a link under a game and it doesn;t work...so on gameday do you just click that link and it takes you to some screen with the game..?? Is it good enough quality to watch every game that way or do u suggest Sunday Ticket or a bar?
you need to download SopCast player or TVUplayer whichever one it is using, sometimes they don't work or the links changes before the game
Buy a dish... even a simple 1 lnb one... (if you have a window facing West-South-West). Bring a receiver from home. You'll get everything you want for the price of the dish.... no monthly fees. (you'll be using yourparent's account)
Sweet man....hopefully I will be able to see the game Friday...that will be the kciker on whether or not I decide to watch all the games this way this season.....
http://www.sopcast.org/download/ get the player..just download and install. On the days of games they usually post the channel and link here: http://streamednfl.blogspot.com/
You're in college..you should be at the bar. Gators on Saturday, Jets on sunday, hot chicks before and after (plenty at UF), and occasionally take a few minutes to study.
From the OFFICIAL NY JETS WEBSITE There is a sportsbar in Gainsville that is NY Jets friendly. Kazbors Sports Grille 4860 39th Street Gainesville, Florida (352) 372-8181 Every Sunday Kazbors shows every game. I have created the "JETS Corner" where local JET fans meet and cheer on our favorite team. I hope that helps you out being stuck in Gator land. Remember Gator Blue for Saturdays, Jets Green for Sundays.
i am a sr at wvu and i faced the similar problem, ur best bet is to goto a commercial sports bar that isn't 21 and over, make nice with the dude that runs the tvs, its what i did and now i sit at the same table at the same bar in front of a 52 in tv with the sound to the game, dont forget to cheer loudly bc we dont have the numbers as cowgirl or steeler fans but we're a lot cooler and u need to let everyone in the bar know that
i believe that usually entails "Streaming from the link" meaning you have to find the link to the stream that Sopcast uses (link for the channel) and then place in VLC. Kinda of like transferring over the stream from media player to VLC. its been awhile so i could be wrong but im pretty sure you cant just open VLC and watch the game unless you direct the stream to the player. correct me if im wrong..
quality isnt very good. I used it last year for the Jets/Lions game, b/c CBS changed the game being shown in my area the morning of so I didnt have time to go somewhere.
yeah sorry for not being clear...yeah u have to find the link for the game...i dont have the page right now (@ work) but yes u have to find the link for the streaming game.....thanks..also theres a slight delay...but if u dont have another other choices....its not too bad. http://streamednfl.blogspot.com/
