Very promising, ESPN also had a good article on Thomas Jones today and how happy he is to be with the Jets and how him and Leon are developing a great relationship unlike him and Benson.
Outside of Jets fans, AFCE rival fans and the NY sports media, you would be surprised how few people know about the talent of Rhodes.
Thats a really smart move by the CS. Before he developes any 2nd year jitters and lack of confidence address it before it happens because if anyone was going to get stage fright this year , it has to be Brick. A+ to the CS/FO
the best news is that of Lomas Brown mentoring D'Brick. Brown was a great tackle and its great to hear he is a "personal instuctor" and not just o-line coach or something. Were talking complete personal attention and development, thats how you groom a franchise tackle. I was a downer on D'Brick last year, but with reports of his bulking up and now this, I see reason to get excited about him again.
I think the most important factor is...can he maintain the bulk? Last year he weighed 312 pounds at the Scouting combine and dipped way down as the season progressed...he may have gotten close to 280! Apparently he is back up to 305 and if he stays at that weight...this guy will not only be a great LT, but a consistent one. Walter Jones plays at 305 pounds so I have no problem with 305. Lets go Brick!
Good read. I think Vilma will have a big season. People were doubting him last year but there was an article that pointed out the Bruschi (I think that was who they referenced) had similar (if not less) stats in his first year in the 3-4 too. Vilma did a great job of getting the rest of the D in position and now that he has a year under his belt I think we'll see him feel much more comfortable and make more impact plays. Rhodes to me is no surprise as we all have seen him become a big-time player. Brad Smith will be interesting to watch and hopefully help make for some more exciting offense. Nice to hear the Brick is coming along too of course and Chad deserves to enjoy camp after the way he busted his as and surprised almost everyone last year.
As a football player. Smith is a gem and opposing teams knew it from the start by the way they shat their collective pants whenever he lined up anywhere on the field. I'm simply excited to see how he develops. And I'll be holding my breath hoping he is as mentally up to the task as he is physically. I'd hate to see him become a failed experiment, but this is the type of player I would love to see on our roster, a multi-role player.
I would have posted sooner but after reading this article I got so psyched I put on my JETS helmet and ran head first into a wall and knocked myself unconscious! I AM SO EFFING PSYCHED FOR THE DAMN SEASON TO START!!! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS See ya later, gotta go but spackle...
me too.......i can't wait.............i can't wait for the celtics to win ANOTHER champ. too!!!!.........
