The crazy thing is that all these years a doofus like Bradway managed to get all his picks in camp, no problem.

I would be 100% behind Tanny if Revis was pushing for a 4 year contract, but the fact that all he's asking for is what everybody within his draft spot got, year-wise.

Levi Brown just signed with the Cardinals. Not sure of the specifics but that's another player signed while we are still waiting on Revis. This is getting beyond rediculous. The worst part is what the holdout is over. It's not like Revis is asking for some crazy amount of money (a la Brady Quinn). They need to hurry up and get his ass into camp pronto.

If Brady Quinn signs before Revis, that would be embarrassing considering what he's asking for.

    Brown signed a 6-year deal.

(by the way, what is Revis asking for?...no one seems to have reported anything other than the years.)

Umm, yeah, so y'all think that one week of camp is equal to one year of a player's rights? C'mon! In the immortal words printed on the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy..."DON'T PANIC"

The New York Post reports that Darrelle Revis remains nowhere to be found at Jets training camp. Eric Mangini is growing increasingly displeased with Revis' absence as the player's agent and Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum haggle over the length of the contract (five years versus six).

Rookie wide receiver Calvin Johnson signed a six-year deal with the Detroit Lions on Friday, ending the No. 2 overall pick's eight-day holdout.

More ammunition for the Jets against Revis. The best player in the draft, by far. Revis just needs to say to himself, ok I lost..time to get in.

Yeah but Revis and Johnson were drafted 12 spots apart, and every player near Revis was signed to a 5 year deal.

The Johnson signing will have no impact on Revis' deal unless he was somewhere in the top 5 picks.

Are you kidding? If the best player in the draft signs a 6 year deal there is no way the Jets back off.

Perfect example of why this doesn't matter one bit.

After Johnson signing I would be really surprised if Revis isn't signed within 48 hours.

I'm not kidding. The "best player in the draft" and Revis were not picked back to back.

They are in arguably different tiers of the draft. Top 5 vs all others. The goal is to keep a top talent like that locked up for as long as possible, and 6 years is not out of the question.

If anything, this goes to show that Revis should receive the 5 year deal that those around him received.

Are you trying to convince me that Revis was the 2nd best player of the draft so he too should be locked up for 6?

I'm just not following your argument. Please explain.

Levi Brown's contract was for SIX years. There are still 5 1st round players unsigned. I have no problem with the Jets attempting to get six years from Revis, just like Brown, Okoye and a number of other 1st round picks. Just because the guys drafted right before and after Revis got 5 year deals doesn't mean the jets are required to do 5 years too. Everyone should realize that we're doing what's best for the team. I doubt missing the first week or two weeks of training camp will have a long term impact on Revis. Relax, everyone...

it makes our organisation look retarded. no wonder why everyone is complaining. kendall is complaining, moore is complaining, revis is complaining, rhodes is looking for a new contract, vilma (soon) needs a new contract, robertson needs a new contract...it keeps piling up and he is just sitting there and watching the guys practice. what the hell are you doing there anyway? you're not the coach so get your big ass back into your office and start talking to the agents, stop destroying our team chemistry. offer the kid a 5 year deal and get this pathetic thing done, trade kendall, re-sign moore (god knows he deserves it) and then lets go.

oh, and stop with this cap-space bullshit. if you need cap room, get rid of some of the veteran backups that make a lot of money without being productive (kimo, kendall, barrett, mccareins etc)
