What's up fellas-- I tried to get there early, but my friend showed up late, there was an accident on the LIE, and they switched fields from the last time I was there 3 years ago, so I missed 80% of the practice. Anyway, I've got a little info. I noticed a few times that Rhodes, E. Smith, and E Coleman were all on the field at once-- looks like Coleman may play nickle-- maybe that changes when DR gets his ass in camp, but I thought it was interesting. Brick looked skinny as ever to me, Ellis and Mike Haynes looked like Monsters--they are just huge. Pennington looked good as usual, and if anyone has any doubt that he's a good QB, go to camp one day and watch him. My favorite two players to watch are always Vic and McCareins. McCareins just looks so polished and fluid when he runs his routes, and Vic is just a monster, who was in position to make the tackle all the time today. I think Vic is the toughest guy on the team-- he's a bad dude. Clemons looked like a total nightmare. He was missing guys bad- throwing picks and everything. He looked bad fellas, I'm sorry. Jacob bender looks like he will be a player one day-- he certainly has the build, and just looks like a tough guy. They had him at RT with the 2nd team. Kendal was by himself the entire practice, but acknowledged a fan who yelled out "stick around, the team needs you Pete" Mangold looks huge, and I would think he may have put on weight, but I never saw him up close before so I could be wrong. The music was cool-- I really think that's going to help these guys during the season-- it was incredibly loud-- very cool to see. I was only there about 30 minutes due to my disaster morning, but I intend on going back when Revis is signed. Quick question-- I heard Richard Seymore is on the PUP list-- anyone know what's up with that? With Samual holding out, and him injured, there is a reasonable chance we play NE week 1 without those two guys. In which case, we win.:beer: PS-- anyone over the age of 14 who hangs around for autographs is a total loser.

I was there as well. Kellen didn't look good at all and wildly inaccurate. I want to see more of him. He seemed better last year. Kendall was all alone whenever he wasn't on the field. Interesting situation to watch. Cotchery burned Miller one on one on a long ball over the middle (i think chad). Coles and Cotchery are as good as it gets. I don't have anything more. It was really crowded and had a hard time actually following certain things. I might stop by tomorrow and pay more attention.
You weren't the abnoxious guy with the Dunkin Donuts Coffee in hand, screaming "When is practice going to start?" were you? I wanted to strangle that guy with my shoelace. How about that play to Cotch, where he looked to pass downfield???? If I see that in a game, I'm going to go nuts!
Not to knock you, but i was at the whole practice today and i saw it completely different. First, maybe im wrong about this, but i never saw the 3 safeties on the field at once. Most of the first team snaps were taken by Rhodes and Coleman, but Smith mixed in there a little bit. Then i saw Smith and Coleman when Rhodes was taking a breather, but never the 3 of them together. I also thought it was interesting that Justin Miller took more snaps with the first team then Barrett, and Poteat was almost invisible. I rarely saw him. For all the talk about McCareins being rejuvinated and ready for a break out season, i didnt see it at all today. He was on the sideline during almost all the first team drills. He looked pissed. On the other hand, Smith was all over the place today. He never got a break. He played with the 1st 2nd and 3rd team, including one great TD catch from Tui. He looked like he was ready to be the number 3 wide out. He also led the offense at QB a few different times throughout the day. I agree with you on Clemmens. Although his arm looked strong, his footwork was all over the place, just like we saw in the few glimpses during the season. He looks like Eli Manning in the pocket. A little disapointed. It was funny watching Kendall all day because during breaks everyone would be joking around and he was kinda just on the sideline kneeling by himself. He was mostly with the second team. He took more shit from fans than anything. I heard a lot of people yelling profanities at him. He just ignored it. Also, i thought Jacob Bender looked hurrendous. He was beat in almost all the one on ones, and the play with the 2nd team you eluded to, he had a false start and had to run a lap. Mangold did look good as you said. And i also agree about the music. During the practicing he had some classical music going. During the playcalls and at the line they were blasting a mixture of hip hop and crowd noise. It was funny because with all the technology you would think they had, there was just a guy controlling the music with a basic Ipod. During the 2 minute drills, they played the song "Under Pressure." Very fitting. The only injury i saw today was during the last play of the first team's 2 minute drill. Baker caught a ball and Vilma hit him and he kinda just collapsed. It didnt look terribly serious, probably just cramps or something. Hell be fine. PS--I am well over the age of 14 and hanging around for autographs was the best decision i made all day. The players were awesome about talking to us and all of them were pretty articulate. I had a ten minute conversation with Jessie Pellot-Rosa about the Duke game. I asked him what he liked better, football or basketball. He sighed and responded, "basketball." I said "and what if Mangini asks you that?" He looked up at me and said, "are you crazy? im trying to make this team. Of course i would say football." I also talked to Cotchery, Wallace Wright, and Ben Graham. Towards the end, Graham had to go and someone asked for one last autograph, and he says in his heavy auzzie accent, "i would love to stay, but coach is gonna kick my ass." I wasnt sure which coach he was referring to, whether it be Mangini, Westhoff or someone else, but it was pretty funny. Overall, i thought it was a good practice and a good time for me.
I saw that too. At first, it looked like it was going to be one of those idiotic plays they ran to Cotchery last year where he would line up in the slot a few yards back of the line of scrimmage, and then run off of that. The lateral play that burned us in New England. I hope we don't see that play. And no, that wasn't me I found typeonenegative and petro in the stands, and there would be no way I would be drinking coffee in 85 degree heat.

I'm with ya. Hobson impressed the hell out of me last year, I'm a big fan of his. I'm expecting big things this year.

From an impartial RANDY LANGE But Mike Nugent couldn't conclude the two two-minute drives that ended practice with successful field goals. The situation for both Pennington and Kellen Clemens was to move the offense from the Jets 40 into FG range trailing, 21-20. Pennington's drive ended with TE Chris Baker getting shaken up after a catch and Nugent missing wide right from 51 yards. Clemens got his unit a little closer, but this time "Nooge" was wide left from 43. To be fair, it must be stated that the goalposts Nugent was kicking at are Arena League width, not NFL width.
You're the only one that calls him Vic......and why shouldn't people over 14 ask for autographs?....you gotta get that Ebay merchandise somehow.... all kidding aside....why can't anyone ask for an autograph....if you're a hardcore fan of the team I can't see why it's a problem.
It's hard to fathom why Clemens would look worse. By all accounts, he looked promising in camp last year. Either he's swimming in the playbook and thinking too much or the coaching staff has done some tweaking of his footwork, which has thrown him off. He had very good footwork in college and was a very accurate QB but different coaches have different techniques. I wouldn't worry too much about what's going on since he probably won't play much this year. Maybe he's hurt? I think the pre-season games will be more telling than practice.
Tuiasosopo looked really frickin good in drills the other day. Didn't catch him in the 11on11's, though.
oh Clemens, I can't wait to see you in the preseason. For a guy I don't really expect too have too much of an impact, I am insanely interested in his progress.
