Here we go! I think ARod doesn't get the HR here. They don't even have to pitch to him. I'd actually crack up if they IBB him.
and now waldman is yelling indignantly about how angry she is that they weren't going to call it #500. a bitch and a homer. I hate you both "THE DUMBEST THING I EVER HEARD! I'M SO GLAD IT'S OVER!" Waldman was basically celebrating A-Rod grounding out.
screw you, waldman. fact is, this game is a june 28th game, not a july 27th game. Unless you want to count them as separate games, the only way that makes sense is to count the stats for june 28th.
believe me, I would. Unfortunately, the only TV is in the attic and we have visitors. so I don't have access to it until Sunday. Sad, I know. [I was actually planning to watch this game when I saw last night that it would be on 9. But then all of a sudden on friday, my sister and brother-in-law arrive with their newborn] it just makes me listen on the radio, which never fails to piss me off.
I can understand. If it makes you feel any better, Kay is on 9, so you aren't hearing him, the epitome of the word homer.
Excellent? How many 1-2-3 innings has he had in relief since his horrible start? He makes 10 million a year and will want more..Chamberlain and Sanchez throw 98 and 100 respectively and don't give up walks..it's time to turn the page and give one of them a shot.
He's had eight appearances, since April 28th in Boston, where he has faced the minimum number of batters. But he has had twenty-two appearances where he's only faced one more than the minimum number of batters. Out of thirty. This is no different from any other year. In fact, his K/9 is up over his career average. He's missing bats. He's throwing hard. You're not seeing a decline in ability. He had a few blips on the radar at the beginning of the year. Since that April 28th game, Mo has posted an ERA of 1.02. How does that not qualify as excellent? You don't thrust either of those guys into the closer role right away. Are you nuts?! Here... replace the greatest closer of all-time. Good luck, kid! Whoever will be replacing Mo should get a year (or two) as his setup man. Regardless, the 2007 Rivera (and likely the 2008 Rivera) are still going to be many times better than the other options you have. There's no way I toss one of the kids to the wolves without any taste of the bigs.
