Nah, I tried to play it all cool and shit as she walked by. Then as soon as she passed out of my line of vision I ran off to the restroom and started whimpering like a little baby.
Alio, I was only able to get through first 5 or so pages of this thread so sorry if this question has already been asked, but what are your thoughts on sports drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade, and Vitamin Water. Is there anything I should know about those because I drink quite a bit of them (especially Vitamin Water).
They are loaded with sugar. The majority of the sports drink market is not only nonathletic but barely active at all. If you must blow money on a flavored drink, go with protein water. It is essentially milk that has much longer shelf life and doesn't curdle. You don't need to replenish your sodium, most people take in far too much. If you want more potassium, get a supplement to take before and after your workouts.
GAtorade and Powerade do what they are supposed to, but they do have alot of sugar, so they're really only good to drink when you are exerting yourself alot and realy need a load of electrolytes....either then or when you're really hung over...
Gatorade for the most part uses the same HFCS as everyone else, but it only contains half as much sugar as soft drinks.
You don't need that extra minuscule amount of salt. The drinks don't have enough potassium to assist cell function or muscle contraction. Drink Kool-Aid if you want the sugar. Electrolytes my arse; it's marketing and nothing else. Most people don't need to replenish electrolytes during a workout and pure water will just run through your system depleting things (both good and bad) and won't really be replenishing anything besides water.
Sorry for the delay in responding guys. Soss was right on the money. Gatorade, Powerade, and all that other crap contains the same HFCS as everything else, albeit with less regular sugar. Personally, given the choice, I'd rather they doubled the sugar, and removed the HFCS. Anyway, I received a PM about a week ago from someone asking about the contents of the supposed "healthier" sports drinks, like FUSE. There is no HFCS, but the ingredient in question is Crystalline Fructose. Well, I had never heard of it before the question, so I did a little research. Here's the result: So then, I'd say this stuff is even worse shit than the HFCS laden shit. It's all crap, and is why I'm drinking almost exclusively water and wine now. The only other things I drink are my coffee (which someday I need to kick,) and my post-workout smoothies. Arsenic? Seriously? Come on...
I have a question and it may sound dumb. Since I switched from drinking Pepsi and have continued to exercise I have lost 15 pounds. I expect the weight loss to continue, but how do I stop it when I get to a comfortable weight? I would like to continue drinking water forever, but I don't want to be too skinny in the future.
Easy answer. Drink smoothies post-workout. After your workout, your metabolism is different from all other times during the day. I don't recall all of the technical specifics at the moment, but basically, your body needs sugar and protein immediately after the work. Now this isn't an excuse to scarf down a nice half a cheesecake, but you do need to get some sugar into your body. Here's my current smoothie recipie: 2 bananas Half a pint of fresh blueberries 2 cups of lowfat vanilla yogurt 8 scoops of vanilla flavor whey protein (I just buy a big container from Target. It tastes a lot like Carnation.) (This is the only supplement I advise.) 3 cups of milk (or whatever it takes to fill the blender to the 6 cup line.) A shot of sugar free maple syrup. (You can go without this, but it adds a little more "sweetness" to the taste.) Throw it all in the blender, and blend until totally smooth. This is enough for about 4 days of post-workout smoothies. It's advised to drink your smoothie within an hour after working out, the sooner after, the better. This will help your muscles repair, and keep them growing, which is what you want. Muscle weighs more than fat anyway, so your weight will probably level off, or you may even gain a few pounds. No problem there, since there's nothing wrong with gaining muscle weight. At this point, I eat whenever I want. I also eat quite a bit at dinner again. I don't gain a single pound though, and it's thanks to the fact that my metabolism is running so hot, whatever I eat gets burned up even when I'm sleeping. My body is really starting to take the form I want, so I'm more than happy. Congratulations on losing so much weight! How long have you been doing this? A few weeks? That's awesome bro! Keep up the good work!
I have been but it is hard to stick to it every day. I have really turned my eating around though, I would say that's the biggest change I have made....I still need to cut out the unnecessary beer though. As for workign out, I do stuff at home on days when I am not at the gym, but I stillt ry to go to the gym as much as I can......the nice weather makes it tough though because I am a big golfer....
I don't follow the program 100%, but I eat better and drink mainly water and I feel great and am losing weight. Alio is the man!
So far tubby hubby has lost 22 pounds, he's not following your program 100% but does most of it. And your exercise program is doing him great. Now that he lost the beer belly, he's working on getting it toned.
i eat lots of fried and fatty foods. inactivity is a must. bed sores are a sign of success. why grab utensils to eat. be a sucker no more and have your food blended and keep a long tube in the blender so that it can stretch to your desired area. youll have a new body in no time.
That's wonderful to hear! That's exactly where I'm at now. I've lost all the weight I wanted to (35 lbs) and now I solely work on toning everything up.
