ESPN Insider is having a Free Preview so check this out. They have ranked all 32 teams QBs. Positive things are said about Chad and Kellen. #12 is a great spot for them, considering 16-18 is the norm for the Jets. Enjoy.

I put the Jets paragraph if you don't care to read the full rankings:

You have to admire Chad Pennington's perseverance. He came back with a throwing shoulder that has been surgically repaired twice and still played all 16 games in 2006. He is a cerebral QB with superior leadership qualities. He has an excellent touch and is a master at reading defenses and making plays in the short passing game. However, his lack of arm strength can tend to hinder his effectiveness. Defenders jump his routes and his accuracy has to be nearly perfect because it takes so long for the ball to get there. Backup Kellen Clemens is the QB of the future. He has better physical skills and arm strength, but he's not quite ready to take over. Ex-Raider Marques Tuiasosopo will fill the No. 3 role and has solid NFL experience. Even if Pennington struggles in 2007, it is unlikely Eric Mangini would make a midseason change.

In other words anything less than perfection from our Defense and we have to suffer through yet another season without a championship!

Couldn't the same be said about every team in the NFL?? Funny how Peyton Manning is the best QB in the league yet he couldn't win a SB until his D stepped up and carried him in the playoffs.

The same Peyton Manning who was the QB when a team lead by Chad Pennington beat him 41-0 in a playoff game..

Didnt he also beat Brady, and Favre (in a game that would have give GB a home playoff game?) in that stretch ?

Many QB's not as good as Chad have won Super Bowls.

I'm sick of hearing this junk. Chad is definately good enough to win a SB.

yeah, that AFC Championship game sure was a defensive struggle. good thing the Colts didn't have to rely on Peyton Manning orchestrating a late score to win it.

The difference in that game was the QB.

Manning had a great 2nd half against NE that's it. In baltimore he didn't lead his team to a TD, against KC the Chiefs O was dreadful, in the SB in was the ground game that carried the O and w/o the D stepping up in the 2nd half against NE(thanks in large part to a INT TD manning gave up that put them in a huge hole) then manning doesn't have a chance to win that game in the 2nd half.

I think you meant KICKER not QB. peyton was 15-30 in that game for just 170 yds w/ zero Tds and 2 INts- how exactly was he the difference? The difference bal turning it over 4 times and Vinatieri going 5 for 5 on FGs.

Sorry Junc but the Colts ran the ball down the throats of Baltimore because Manning was able to make throws down the field under pressure, backing up and being belted around. The Baltimore safties were 15 to 20 yards off the LOS in the second half of that game becuase they were backed off by Manning. You simple don't understand the game if you think Manning wasn't the difference in that game.

The difference Manning made was only relevant because the defence was so good.

Baltimore would have held most teams to a couple of field goals in that game. The Baltimore D played great and beat the crap out of Manning but he still was able to get the ball down field enough to back them off.

True, but if his defense had given up 28 points he loses anyway...

I just don't get the argument here with the ranking of 12th.

If you are ranked 12 of 32 at your position, that is pretty good (Even though it is the unit as a whole).

At quarterback it is even better. Who knows, maybe Chad's arm will be stronger in 07 even.
