At the 2006 MLB All-Star Game, it was announced that TBS will begin carrying a package that includes all major league teams. It will premiere in two phases, as follows:

    * Starting in 2007, TBS will carry all Division Series games and one of the two League Championship Series, taking them from FOX and ESPN. In addition, TBS will carry the announcements of the All-Star teams and any possible games to determine division winners and wild card teams. Those have also been carried on ESPN.

    * The following year (2008), TBS will begin airing games every Sunday of the regular season for 26 weeks in all. No team may appear on the telecasts more than 13 times.

    that's not good

John Maine not on the roster = ****ing joke

I'm sorry, but he's without a doubt been at least one of the top 4 pitchers in the NL this year.

    some of the snubs were:

Orlando Cabrera (AL SS, I voted for him as starter), Hanley Ramirez (NL SS), Chris Young (NL P, one of the top 3 NL starters), John Maine.

It's tough to call an NL SS that didn't make the team a "snub" this season, there were about 5 guys that would've been slam dunk starters most other years. I probably would've given Renteria the nod over Hardy as the reserve but its not an easy call either way. Young should be on the team instead of Hamels.

As far as the AL goes Bedard should be on the team but I'm not familiar enough with what kind of years guys are having to say who he should bump off.

Griffey is 3rd in the NL in homers and 7th in OPS, how is it a joke that he's starting?

well, ok, if you measure players by homers. I don't.

    Griffey went more on nostalgia.

I don't think any of those three should have been starting if it were done objectively.

OK, what do you measure players by? By almost every meaningful stat these guys are right at the top among NL OFers. I'd like to hear you objectively make a case for you believe should be starting.

Beltran is the only one you can realistically object to, and even there you have to take ballpark factors into account. No, Beltran hasn't been great but he plays his home games at Shea and is OPS'ing .090 points higher on the road. His road OPS is .075 points higher then Rowand .090 higher then Lee and .064 higher then Holliday. All these guys have ridiculous home splits due to the bandboxes they play in. Holliday's OPS is an amazing .325 points higher in Coors then on the road.

Scott Schoenweis is the best guy in our bullpen. His road ERA is easily the best we have.

You should stop bashing the guy.

    it's using your precise argument.

I understand your argument is weak, so you have to back it up by picking and choosing stats. But your picking and choosing of stats can produce surprising results when applied to other cases.

I think it's clear that Scott Schoenweis belongs in the All Star Game.

    I rest my case.
