With a fit Pennington and the running game looking good , I think we may do a little better than last year.
Although toward the latter stages of the season the D stepped up , I do think that unless we can either aquire or develope a player (NT) we will continue to struggle against the run.

I don't know how much better our running game will be this season. The FO did not address the o-line in terms of adding a starter and we're probably losing the guy who was our best guard. TJ definitely helps, but he's not Barry Sanders and will not be opening holes of his own. Hopefully someone will step up and be better than who we had last year.

I think our defense will be significantly improved over last year with the addition of Coleman at DE and the stable of OLB's we brought in. Hopefully Revis and Harris can contribute to that as well. Also after having a year in the defense the players are now learning the intricacies of the defense rather than learning the basics so we'll be able to dial up some more complex schemes. D-rob turned out to be a pretty good 3-4 nt after he figured it out . Vilma appears bigger with a better understanding and Kerry Rhodes will continue to blossom.

All in all I see big steps on defense, but I'm a little worried about the offense. If our o-line can somehow improve at run blocking the offense will definitely be a lot better too, but I just don't see that happening yet.

I think we'll win the wildcard, although I would love a division title

Fins will suck again, Bills will be average, Pats "dynasty" finally comes to an end as they fail to have a winning record.

    Jets - 2007 AFCE Champs - 12-4

I reckon the Jets have a shot at the title, but there's just no way to know how the Pats' pick-ups will fit in. If they do as well as most expect they will be too tough to overhaul this year.

So, I'll go for a wildcard berth with a record of 11-5 and at least one win in the playoffs.

Im not sure, I put winning record and fall short of the playoffs but we could just as easily make it again. I'll try to be more optimistic after training camp.

as long as it's not another "win and your in situation", 11-5.

I say Wildcard. i hope we can snag a huge OL after ther the the cuts to help us out.

Maybe next year we can talk about a SB. If we can make it to the playoffs and we're on a winning streak... who knows.

I'd like to win the opener though. That would put us in the drivers seat and put the Pats down a peg. Week two (away would even put the ice on the cake)

In other words, our first two weeks will tell where we are.

I love the improvements in the running game and our upgrade on the "D" side of the ball, but if we don't improve on the OL or run stopping DL, it's another 10-6 / 9-7 year.

I'm seeing a repeat of this season. 10-6, wild card, probably eliminated in the first round depending on who we're up against. I don't feel that we can win the AFC unless there's some huge stroke of luck in that game on top of facing a weaker opponent in the wild card round.

If we win the AFC East I will do a backflip. You heard it here, folks.

Surprising everybody by being terrible should not be an option.

If that happens, I won't be too surprised. This is the Jets we are talking about.

Never get too high on them. Although, I and others can't help it. :)

very well stated. TJ is a NORTH-SOUTH runner and he will not open any holes as you stated. I look for 303 pound ADRIAN CLARKE to help open holes for him. Clarke is a beast! Still I see us struggling with the rougher schedule. But we will make great strides this year! Our time is just around the corner.

Obviously anything can happen, I think next season we will be back in the playoff hunt if the Jets can avoid any major injuries.

    Peace out.

Clearly the Jets won't win the East yet. It's still a one man show down here.

As for their POs chances. IDK, its always a dog race in the AFC. Sometimes 10-6 won't cut it.
