I got out of the movie theater tonight and put on 66 and heard that the game was in the 8th inning and Blanton was still in. That got me worried until moments later when I heard the score. I decided to watch the final inning and I liked it. I love pitching duels. I was fortunate enough to attend one of the only 1-0 Mets games won via a home run.
A win's a win. We did score 9 runs Friday night, which is something. Besides, maybe tomorrow's the day we break that...
Pretty strange season for Duque so far. In 4 of his 11 starts he's allowed no runs, and in all four he got no decision (the Mets won 3 of the 4). In his 3 losses, he has an ERA of 9.39. In his other 4 starts he has a record of 3-0 (although the team lost the fourth game) with a 1.67 ERA. So, he's been incredibly bad about one-fourth of the time, and incredibly good about three-fourths of the time, but the team is only 6-5 in games he's started.
When did Ron and Gary turn into Joe Morgan and Jon Miller? Their constant potshots at "moneyball" and mocking valuing OBP is getting real old.
