It was for the Yankees too. That's what I'm saying, you'll be fine. It happens. It's better that it happens to you now, before the All-Star break, than down the road in late-August or even September when it can be the difference between the division and going home for the Fall.
Don must not know that Hughes didn't just wake up out of bed and twist his ankle like that. He obviously hasn't heard Cashman talk about how his cleats got stuck in the grass when he was running during his rehab. But in the meantime, it's ok to humor us by drawing comparisons to a 40 million dollar gutless pitcher.

Please no negative comments about the Carlosts tonight. I'll have you know that Beltran's knee is at 89.548594854% and he's playing through a minor injury. Also Delgado had a baby so this is almost like spring training for him.
I hope the Mets get embarassed and have Wang throw a perfect game. We won't have to go through the pain of leaving runners on base.
You know what is amazing about a 162 game schedule. Yankee fans think they should feel good about winning, PROBABLY 2/3 from the Mets, but they actually LOST a full game to Boston this weekend. AND the Mets stay even with Atlanta. Funny Game. So this weekend actually was worst for the Yankees than the Mets.
Now see, I have to take some exception to this comment. When the same sort of thing was said during the Shea series by some Yankees fans, Mets fans immediately jumped on their backs because it wasn't like the Mets were a bad team. The Yankees are good, give them some credit.
The Yankees are good, yes, but retiring the first 5 batters on under 15 pitches has nothing to do with the skill of the other team, but the complete inadequacy of the other team to play the game right. Such a god damn joke. Edit: Correction... first six batters in the game... and I guess it's not perfect with the hit by pitch.
1) Winning this game assures Yankees fans that we don't have to endure hearing about how the Mets beat us overall head-to-head this year. 2) We lost a game to Boston, but we have also gained back 5 games in half a month. Every win is a game you can't fall back in the standings. 3) We're happy our team is FAR better than they were a month ago. 4) Every win is one step closer to the wild card, which is far more realistic for getting us into October than beating out Boston for the division. There's lots of reasons for fans of both teams to be happy right now.
