How about that Carlos Gomez? MVP of the game (if not Perez).

You write a lot of stupid things, but this might be your greatest hit yet.

He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits, with one walk, and 8 strikeouts. Against one of the best teams in baseball.

Had Matsui not made a Little League mistake, the game might have had quite a different ending.

Maybe you should have paid more attention to the game than the "guido meathead Yankee douchebags." Maybe you'd actually know wtf you're talking about.

Gomez had a very good game, but Reyes was 3-3, had 3 SB and both RBIs. He got himself into scoring position 3 times, I believe. It's a shame his only run came when he knocked himself in.

I don't want this to sound wrong, so don't take it the wrong way. Reyes is the most talented SS in NY, without question IMO, right now.

However, at the same time, Alex Rodriguez is the most talented player in baseball. All that matters in the end is whether you win. Jeter's been a great player in the postseason his entire career, and that's when it counts a lot. Reyes will get another chance to shine this year.

I'm not doubting him at all. However, he does need to prove he can do it consistently. That's the only argument I would make in favor of Jeter.

Wow. They just said Jorge will probably play 1B in Colorado when Moose pitches. I'm really starting to think Joe is going back to his former idiocy. Let Posada play where he's comfortable. Stop this catering to pitchers bullshit.

Its an interesting argument, the Jeter, Reyes one. In reality though it is pretty pointless. They are both great SS and I would take either one of them on my team in a heartbeat. Actually imagine that 1, 2 in the lineup..

Anyway, obviously Jeter is more proven, a sure fire HOFer. I'm not sure there are many players I would want before him in a clutch situation. Right now though I think Reyes is the best SS in the game, let alone NY. There is noone in the game with his skill set combination.

Why? 1) Every Yankee gets his name called. 2) He's been the best guy at 1B on this team this year. Cairo is quite underrated defensively. He's not going to get 50+ RBI, but he is going to save 20+ with regular play, and I'll take that over Phelps any day.

I'm with ya there. Although Jeter would have to move to 2B on my team

Nice getting on the board first and seeing Reyes and Wright stealing off of Clippard right out of the gate.

Fuk, I'm forced to watch it on 11 today.

Jesus these announcers are horrible but I guess it's better than being forced to listen to Kay.

One guy is sucking his snots on the air, also saying no Pity from the METS cause they Yanks are forced to start so many rookies and the METS did that last year then the next stat on TV is how what the Yanks have done hasn't been done since 1908.. LMAO

I can't speak for 3rdand15Draw, but Cairo was very "meh" when he was on the Mets and was too often Willies favorite. On top of that, I found it very hypocritical when he trashed the Yankees on numerous occasions in 05 about them not treating him right and such after he went to the Mets, and then going right back to them the year after.
