baamf, wow! Honestly, I didn't even know all that. Most of it I had theorized, and some I did obviously know, as I posted about it already, but some of that stuff I was unaware of.

I'm not looking to boost my triglycerides. From the American Heart Association:

    http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4778

I also wasn't aware that soda sales increased when HFCS was introduced. Wow, just wow.

Thanks for the post man! As I've said, education is key!

I think they are implying that is more from a lack of copper than a presence of sucrose, but I could be wrong.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I assumed the same as you.

Regardless, I don't want my testicles swelling for ANY reason.

I love Pepsi and have been drinking it all my life. Since I read this thread, I haven't had one glass. My head hurts and I think I may be having withdrawls ha ha, but I am not a fan of HFCS, that is for sure. I have been drinking mostly water lately. No HFCS in that.

A note to everyone . . . Ankle weights = pain. Don't do leaps or any jumping in them. Never.

So do you think Pepsi and Coke are responsible for killing more American lives than the the 9/11 terrorists? Who is the real enemy? Something to think about as we go to bed tonight. Many people wondered why God did not stop 9/11. Should those same people wonder why God allows Pepsi and Coke to be made? Just something to think about.

    Good stuff Alio.

Now here is my 2 cents....

Getting into shape can be pretty easy. Hardest part is to get started, but once you do, everything will come very easy. Basically you have to speed up your metabolism. Hence, you have to trick you body into thinking more food is coming to your body, so the body doesn't store food for fat, but rather burns it for energy. So, how do you do that? As other have mentioned, eat smaller meals more often that is rich in vitamins and proteins. Eat complex Carbs in your early meals (ie; rice, potato, oatmeal.)

My personal favorite is sweet potato and oatmeal. Don't force your self to eat something that you think tastes horrible. I love to start my day each day with a big bowl of oatmeal mixed with Whey protein shake blended with half of a banana and 2 strawberries. On the days when I'm lifting a little, I mix in some creatine and bcaa powder to the shake. So, I mix the protein shake with the big bowl of Oatmeal and then mix it with cheerios cereal for crunchy affect.

The complex carbs in oatmeal and cheerios sustains your energy. The fructose in the banana and strawberries opens up your blood vessels for oxygen to travel through with ease and the protein keeps you full and also is the building blocks for muscle. I finished high school 3 years ago. Back then I played both football and baseball. Had a lot more free time than I do now and my body burned off more calories much faster than it does now. With work and college, my schedule is in shamble so I'm definitely no where close to where I was three years ago. But here is a Pic I just took of me  .

    Just remember few things.

To get lean, you must drink a lot, a lot, and a lot of water. It will clear the sodium and the water under the belly and will clear out the bad minerals from your body.

If you want to get defined arms, use free weight. But do various forms of curls.

    Do pushups to get stronger.

Try to eat 90+ grams of protein everyday split into different parts of your meals. They recommend that you eat 1 gram of protein per every pound that your body weighs, but I don't really think that is necessary. However, on the days you work out, you should follow this rule.

Eat complex Carbs in your early meals such as oatmeal and eat vitamin rich foods in your later meals as green vegetables.

Eat something good every 2-3 hours. Try to eat 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and 3 snacks (protein shake, fruits, and whatever else).

Once you build up some muscle it will burn fat even when you are sleeping. Often time, when I wake up in the morning I am 5lbs lighter than my usual weight.

Do high intensity cardio to get defined abs.

Man, you sound exactly like my old professor, Joe Rosen...wouldn't happen to be taking classes with him, would you? I agree with all you've said about HFCS, but that man is a complete tool. Graded me down cause I didn't always agree with him...He actually gave me a worse presentation grade than the two girls who were my partners-and I wrote the whole thing-jackass! But he did teach me a lot about food testing and the FDA.

Anyways, I will start this program next week....I am sick of goign to the gym and running and working hard only to come home, take my shirt off, and see that nothing has changed....hopefully I can get on this and stick to it and make it work for me.

zonebuster, thanks for the post! Very good suggestions there, and I might have to consider that stuff when planning meals.

And thanks for that last part about the burning while sleeping. I've been weighing myself in the morning a couple times this past week, since I've really upped my calorie intake per day. (I can't help it, I'm truly hungry, like stomach growling hungry, a lot.) Every morning, I'm down in the 190-192 range. By the evening, I'm back at 195. I thought it was really wierd and might have been something freaky with the scale, but now this makes a lot more sense. I'm not eating for 6-8 hours, whereas I'm eating probably every 4 during the day. My muscles are tearing through what calories I do consume.

    I love it!
