Billy B. is the bigger scumbag. After taking the job then backing out he went to another team in the same division.

That picture caused me to spit out blood. Or, at least I noticed my mouth was bleeding when I saw that picture. Take it for what you will.

Although I can't stand Belichick, he had been with the Jets for a while and had his own reasons to hate the Jets and didn't want to be bullied into the job by Parcells. Donovan is the bigger schmuck in this case I think.

(Heh, or were you talking about Gutman?)

Oh Billy is the bigger scumbag, Billy had tons of success at Florida, it may not be the most popular thing for him to do (except for Gator fans) but it was probably the best thing he could have done. BTW just curious as to why Dana Altman wasn't on the list. He took the Arkansas job and the next day went back to Creighton.

How can it be anyone but Belichick? He was brought hee as the eventualsuccessor to Parcells, he was given a $1 mil bonus byHes to stay in '99 as DC even though not one team was looking at him to interview then he gets the job and weasels out at his PC to introduce him as HC.

You know whats the funny thing ,If belichick had stayed with the Jets theres no garrantee that we have done anything; or the talk about his shitty tenure with clevland would have come up and he would have to have handled the vinny thing . to me everything worked out just fine and ill take what ever medicine the doctors says to win a super bowl one day! fuck um both!

Bullied? He took a million dollars to stick around and wait for the job. He's a total asshole and there is no other way to put it. I'm sure the reason he took it for a day was so that he wouldn't have had to pay it back too. BTW, a million then was at least worth something, unlike today.

I was never happier when Bellibitch went packing – and to this day, I still insist that minus Tom Brady bellibitch is done.

Had had he kept his job with the Jets, in spite of inheriting Parcells staff – he starts Vinny for three years, goes 8 – 8, 4 – 12 & 4 – 12 and never coaches again.

Now that Parcell’s staff has dwindled away…he will never win another championship.

actually, i thought the biggest schmuck was gutman.

i'm not defending belli, but he was right when he said that "no one ever talked more and won less than steve gutman".

think about most of the 30 plus years that gutman was team president- lots of losing! yuck!

I forgot that he was our HC before Parcells. Which brings up an interesting question. Had he coached in 1997 and had the 9-7 season Parcells did, does Bill Parcells ever coach the Jets?

That was never going to happen, they can say they were prepared to moce forward w/ Belichick but they knew that was forcig NE's hand and they knew BP would coach the Jets in 1997.
