Who said Pedro was 200 lbs anyway? I read ALL the Mets news and have yet to see that published. And why would Pedro get on the scale for anyone since he has been just rehabbing?

I'm about the same age as Giambi and I have torn my plantar fascia twice, once in my left foot and once in my right. It has nothing to do with steroids or being a speed demon.

He said it himself last week in Florida. They talked about it in detail during the Saturday game against the Marlins on the TV broadcast.

Ok. Sorry. Missed it. Not that Pedro has been known to kid or exaggerate though.

It doesn't matter what level of athlete you are or how fast you are, it's about supporting the arch of your foot. I just don't think you understand the nature of the injury, juice would play no role in this.

No worries, just pointing out that there are a lot of things you can kill him on (like the mystery parasite 2 seasons ago) but this one is most likely not related to juice.

    Heh, that was good.

Seriously though, here's something about Giambi that, to me, makes it a lot more suspicious.

The same day that Bud Selig was supposed to speak about Giambi (after pushing back his announcement a day to begin with,) Jason was scheduled for a cortizone shot in his ankle (I think, though it might have been in his foot.) Selig has been under A LOT of pressure to punish Giambi for that statement a couple weeks ago. However, most people know how much Selig and Steinbrenner are good buddies.

Most sports fans know that cortizone shots are a "last resort" type of treatment. Athletes go as long as possible before taking them, since recovery time from it, combined with the fact that you can only get X number of them before you can't anymore, makes them undesirable to take if it can be avoided.

So let's just say Giambi had finally had enough of the nagging pain he was feeling while running. He decided that it was finally time for the shot. Okay, what lead up to that decision, besides just the pain?

Is someone going to tell me he hadn't had an x-ray yet? An MRI? Something? Anything? This tear "suddenly appeared" coincidentally on the same day a punishment was supposed to come down from the commish? Please.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, an owner of a professional sports organization should NEVER be a commisioner.

From what I understand his prorated contract doesn't kick in until he pitches in the majors so expect to see this money/fame hungry SOB sooner then later.

which also means the yankees don't have to pay him until they choose to.

clemens has to be champing at the bit to pitch, so he can start earning his big bucks.

technically, he's on a minor league contract now, and the yankees choose when to purchase it. when they do, the prorated portion of the $28 million kicks in.

Can you imagine if they're 20 games back by the time he's ready and decide not to purchase it?!?!?!

that's what I was thinking of.

that would piss off clemens and his agents big time!

it's totally not worth it anymore, because even clemens isn't going to get them into the playoffs at this point. besides, he wasn't worth anything close to what they're proposing to give him anyway.

"fatigued groin" is code for "I jacked off too much lately, so I'm going to take a week off. Plus I get to open up against one of the worst teams in baseball. Eat that, Cashman!"

Unfortunately he's not, I am a little heavier than normal and I blame Murrell. It's been a good 8 months since I broke my finger but getting back into working out has been tough so I am a little fatter than i'd like to be. I have begun getting back into my routine but I won't be back in good shape for at least a few months. My optimum weight is around 190 or so but I still look pretty good around 195-200 but I'm a little heavier than that now.
