This place is DEAD considering the fact that there's a Sox/Yanks series going on. Are Yankee fans that fairweather or is there some sort of internet problem in New York?
I was wondering the same thing, I'm in Idaho no internet problems here but it also appeared that the Mets forum was pretty dead today too.
I would have posted here, but I was at the Mets game. As for the Yankees Suck chant, it happened today whenever someone wearing Yankees gear was walking around. One deserves to be chanted at when wearing such things at a Diamondbacks-Mets game. I mean, get a clue.
Were they taunting and starting? I have gone to plenty og football and baseball games where there were different jerseys being worn. Maybe the guy got a free ticket from his friend to go to the game. I always wear my Jets or Yankee hat and represent. But i don't start shit,so i wouldn't deserve a chant if I just went to watch a ballgame.
I knew enough to not wear any Mets stuff the only time I ventured into Yankee Stadium. If I wore Met stuff I know I would have been taunted.
I was at a Yankees/Sox game a few weeks ago a guy a few rows up from me was wearing a Mets hat and Jersey,no one said a word to him.
First of all, I am not one to engage in these things and I didn't today. My initial comment here was a bit tongue-in-cheek. The people wearing the Yankees stuff may have not done anything to provoke taunting outside of wearing Yankees stuff. Then again, maybe they did say something- the Mets were losing at the time the first chant happened. My main point here is why would someone wear Yankees stuff to an Diamondbacks-Mets game. Just leave the Yankees stuff at home. If you have an ounce of smarts you would. You want to wear Yankees stuff to a Pirates-Reds game, that's a little different. But wearing Yankees stuff to Shea Stadium? C'mon, even you gotta agree that's basically foolish.
I dont post much because I work until 7:30 in the city so I usally dont get home till after 9, got other stuff to do anyways so Im not around the comp as much. Still Yankee representin,(even tho TGG Yankee night is sold out and Im gonna have to get my tickets on stubhub). We suck but Im always a Yanks fan.
What is there to say? Every hope and aspiration associated w/ the talent/payroll of this team has been thrown out the window. And those of us who wanted nothing more than to see a young player like Phil Hughes develop in the midst of the disaster had THAT taken away from us as well. I havent watched w/ actual passion in a month. All I watch for now, is good baseball, and hopes for Hughe's return. I can't do that during the boston series, "Red sox nation" gets worse and worse w/ their hatred and immature "Yankees suck" jargon....I'm happy for them in the sense that they are gonna have their first division title in many years..and I understand their side of the rivalry(Yank fans have their immaturity as well), but after 04, and the Yanks stretch w/o a title...you'd think the nonsensical 5th grade chants and blind hatred would die down alittle.... but win or lose from their end, it only gets worse. In a season like this, it makes the games vastly unenjoyable. W/ all that said, there isn't much to comment on.... I hate what the Yankees franchise has come to.. I hate what the red sox and alot of their fans have become...
Supporters of a winning organization that doesn't have to overpay for past their prime former all stars to have a hope of winning?
I guess it was easier when you didn't have to deal with the 1918 chants for 20+ years. C'mon Kurt...the Yankees Suck chants really can't bother you this much.
What. you came here to gloat @ 9:30pm on a Saturday and expected 20+ Yankee fans to be here? We saw the game and then went on with our lives.... C'mon. You're 24. What the hell are you doing on a Chat message board @ 9:30 on a Saturday?
Actually we don't have to over pay for past prime former all stars, the idiots that run this team just do it anyway. And it doesn't give us hope of winning....anymore. This team will start winning when the younger players like Cano,Melky,Hughes,Clippard, and the upstarts in the minors take over.
My wife's baby shower was yesterday afternoon, so I was there. (Yeah, I got suckered in, but at least my brothers and one other guy showed up, so it wasn't as tragic as it could have been. We actually surprised my mother for her 60th b-day, so it roped in my brothers. The other guy is just a poor sap like me.) Anyway, I listened to the game. It was depressing. We should have won that game, but Abreu is a total piece of shit. And then the situation with Mientkiewich basically took us out of the game. When that happened, I was in stunned silence, and I knew that the game was over right there. So I wasn't around to post. But you shouldn't be calling anyone out man. I noticed you disappeared quite early Friday night and never returned.
The second highest payroll in the league contains names such as Lowell, Wakefield, and Schilling. Should we even bother to look at the third highest payroll's roster? The name Alou comes to mind. Sure, any of the guys mentioned can still play "past their prime." However, so can names like Posada (who leads the AL in average,) and Pettitte, who even the most critical of fans has to admit should have at least 5 more wins. Do you even bother to think before you post, or has your Yankee hatred blinded you so thoroughly that you don't even try?
