No, but why would someone start a thread like this? Why would this need to be said? To me it looks like either an attempt to put yourself above other Mets fans or to suck up to Yankee fans. I also don't understand why anyone would be embarassed by opinions or thoughts another Met fan voices.

How do you know about this phenomenon? Shouldn't you be concerned with your own team?
Seems like you watch and/or attend Mets games on a regular basis.

You are infatuated with the Mets.

 Ok. Nice spin, but no Yankee fan has any reason to be obsessed with the Mets. after the mets win 24 more championships we might start chanting mets suck at Yankees stadium though, but until then......

you can hear the chant clearly on tv a lot

You watch every single Mets game on TV?

    Somebody's obsessed.

It probably has, but rarely. In my opinion, being decked out in Yankee paraphernalia is reason enough. You're at a Mets game in Shea. Unless the Yankees are playing the Mets in Shea... go away.

I'm not tempering up. Odds are, if you're decked out in Yankee gear at Shea, you're a douche. I've said nothing worse than anyone else.

every single game? No,but i do watch met games, yes. I also watch a lot of the espn night games too. So? Take a look in our game threads and see how many met fans seem to know whats going on with our games.

I don't get whats wrong with it. Whatever the fans want to do within reason is fine, they're the ones paying to watch.

I think the entertainment value added by there actually being a lively yankees/mets rivalry far outweights the annoyingness of any chant.

rarely? bullshit. but i will agree that if a yankee fan does go there and pull that shit they deserve the chant.

It won't take 24. It might only take one. I don't think anyone under the age of 40 (the people who surely account for at least 90% of the chanters) really cares about 26. Four or six would be the more appropriate numbers. (It's four for me since I was only a baby in 1977 and 1978.)

This is due to the fact that, by nature, the Mets fan tends to be an intelligent creature.

The presence of a Yankee fan is enough to start it.

I don't know. They do a "Rangers suck" thing at every Devils game and I find it enjoyable. We certainly don't evny them, we just hate them. Nothing wrong with a little local hatred. You need that, a sport is in trouble without it.

It's a bit different in hockey because the local teams play each other more often, in more important games.

    Potvin sucks!

That made me spit out my Frosted Flakes...Telling him to calm down:eek:hmy:

I find this a little contradictory David...Are you saying when the Mets play at Yankee Stadium, the Mets fans should leave there Wright jersey at home because it's at a AL park?

They're supporting their team...I don't see the problem either way.

Agreed. These people chanting that are just having fun.. I see no problem with it. It happens all over MLB parks.
