Reyes has been in a slump for two weeks. Beltran has not been as bad as Reyes, but has also been hitting less well over the same period of time. Wright was awful in April, got hot the first three weeks of May, but hasn't done as well in the last week (although he has two hits today). Beltran proves it by whiffing. Smith out, Heilman in. Don't like it, but that's the way it goes.
More poor baserunning by the Mets. They must realize that if they score it won't be a save situation and then Wagner will suck.
 braves have a big rally going in the bottom of the 9th. too bad they were down 10 runs. now the gap is 7. phillies hang on and we win we're up 4.5 on braves and 6.5 on phillies
A little hiccup, but Wagner ends it and the Mets get the sweep. Braves one out away from getting swept, putting the Mets up 4.5.
As I noted earlier, while the general rule is always to root for the team that is farther behind, I definitely don't like the way the Phillies are playing right now. They went 16-9 to get back to .500, then lost 3 out of 5, but have now won 4 of 5. I'd like to see the D'Backs and Giants do some damage against them in their homestand this week before the Mets play them at Shea next week. The Braves have lost 10 of their last 14, so if they're not careful the Phils could blast right by them (too bad for the Braves, they don't play the Mets again for more than two months!).
I don't mind the solo HR's from Wagner. Every pitcher is going to give up runs sometimes and if they come in 1s while the Mets have a fairly large lead it's that much better. Where he really got himself in trouble last year was the walks and having no command of his pitches. We really haven't seen that from so far this year which is a great sign.
