I was one of 14,197 at that game. Seaver pitched a two-hitter (the Mets only had four hits themselves), and tied the then major league record of 19 Ks in a game.
Cohen exposes Keith's absurd statement - bat quickly, but never give up an at bat. "But how do you do both?"
You're lucky. I've attended five Padres-Mets game. The Mets went 1-4 in those games with the only win coming in a doubleheader shortly before the strike hit in 1994. The Mets got smoked 13-1 by Fernando Valenzuela on fireworks night in May 1996. My first game was Big Ass striking out 14 Giants on Labor Day 1986. The K cards were out that day. (Big Ass is my all time favorite pitcher.)
Lo Duca... Didnt look to serious though. He took a funny swing, looked real uncomfortable and then left in between innings.
Endy makes it a little more difficult than it has to be, but makes the catch. 7-2 through seven. I wonder if the game is going to be stopped now.
