1-1, Endy's stolen base comes up big as Gotay doubles in the tying run.

Guzman crumbles in the 5th again...He's a 4-inning pitcher at this stage. Not good enough.

He's such garbage. Franco is equally terrible but at least if he was starting every day Willie wouldn't feel compelled to put him in the 4 hole every day.

Not a bad wee road trip if we can convert this lead into a win (no guarantees yet), 3-4 in Philly & NY. Now we need to crush the White Sox.

I've been thinking if it would be possible to run out a worse lineup then the Mets did today. The only thing I could come up with(without putting pitchers out in the field and such) would be to slide Newhan into the 3 hole, so the 4 worst hitters on the Mets roster are in the 2-3-4-5 spots instead of just 3 out of 4 of the worst hitters on the Mets roster in those positions.

Cubs aren't exactly putting out their strongest team - the guys at C, 1B, 2B, SS, CF and RF tonight wouldn't normally start in those slots.

Give me a break. Pretty much every catcher sits a day game after a night game, the IF is only switched around because Lee is injured and the OF because a lefty is starting.

So your lineup is one player different then it would be and that's due to an injury.

not that I'm conceding this game or anything (third, you really gotta get a little more positive in your life bro, you were touting game over at 3-1?)...

3 of 4 would be nice, but i'll take the split and run considering what we put on the field and the mound today......I don't mind seeing Willie manage for the long haul here

I'll be honest. I'm looking forward to the Yank series as always, but really looking past them more to the Braves series, like we all should be doing!!

    big games coming up

Yep, there's reasons for it, but it's still a drastically different lineup from the ideal.

It's a difference of 1 player. Sorry, that's not drastic.

The ideal lineup against a lefty is Barrett, Lee, de Rosa, Theriot, Ramirez, Soriano, Murton and whichever of Jones and Floyd looks happy enough. That's three different from tonight, but de Rosa and Theriot are out of position tonight, so call it five. Does it really matter? They all count as one game.
