If Tom Brady goes down we'll win, their Back-up was USC's backup for 4 years and in high school he backed up Carson Palmer for 4 years. He hasn't played QB since 8th grade.

How about this scenario…Moss starts to slack off in practice and Brady yells at him. Meriwether is covering Moss and thinks that Brady is threatening him. Meriwether is in fear for his life so he shots Brady in self defense.

Oh man, that would be so funny. You'd be confined to the Assclown Asylum at Pats Planet arguing with the other trolls all day. Seriously, you should do it.

I think you would be absolutely shocked by how little Matt Cassel would achieve if he got sent in due to a Brady injury. He hasn't thrown more than 24 passes in a season since high school.

Ray Lucas at least had been a starting QB at Rutgers and had some experience under his belt.

I'm interested in knowing just how long Tom Brady's streak of no real injuries can go on. Not wishing them on him, mind you, but this is football and you usually see a guy get banged up every once in a while. I don't think Cassell, as good as Pats fans hope he could be, would be able to run the Pats offense evewn half as effectively. And that's in an ideal situation.

Some QB's that were almost never seriously injured through long careers:

Fran Tarkenton, John Elway, Dan Marino and Brett Favre.

They're a rare breed but it does happen. Peyton Manning is on his way to joining them right now and in another few seasons Brady might be also. There's no predictor as to whether a QB can do this or not. They either do it or they don't.

Marino and Elway both had one serious injury in their careers that caused them to miss half a season or more.

I take it you're not superstitious. If you don't say it, maybe it won't happen.

Uh oh, logic loop here and superstition too. Easy for me to get confused and fall over in that kind of situation.

So if I don't say it then maybe it won't happen? Or is that if I don't say it won't happen then maybe it won't?

I get totally lost when I'm trying to figure out how to deal with my superstitions logically.

I just make up superstitions as I go along these days, mostly because one of them is bound to stick and then someone will have to think up a really creative reason why it is there 100 years from now. Another one I'm going for is, the less people that eat clam chowder in the summer, the more likely Tom Brady is to have diarrhea the night before our Week 1 game and sit out for a portion of it due to dehydration. I don't have much hope for it to catch on, since I can't really stop eating clam chowder myself, but maybe someone else will have more willpower than me.

I didn't say he was in Brady's league... I said he's got a better arm than chad.

Many QBs in the league have better arms than Chad, and are just too dense or not capable of carrying out a gameplan under game stress. Remember the game where Mo Lewis knocked Bledsoe out of the game? And when they needed to throw a long ball, did they go to Brady? No, they went to Michael Bishop. Chad has a weak arm, but he has been an NFL starting QB since 2002. Cassel is still wet behind the ears. Every backup QB you get isn't going to be Tom Brady, and you will be forced to realize this someday.

I've got a better arm than Chad and I'm 46. He's still a much better QB than Matt Cassel. As Ray Lucas was also.

Nah, I'm pretty sure you said he was better than chad. Of course he's got a better arm, who doesn't?.. that doesn't mean he's better than chad. I wouldn't really say we have any serious deep threats with or without pennington, and he has enough smarts and ability to do pretty much everything we expect him to.

so lets put it this way: if he were the jets qb in 06, you really think we would've made the playoffs?

I agree, something tells me that Chad would embarrass this guy on the field. He is after all an NFL quarterback, and not bad at that.
