Not to mention that the Sox don't need him at all right now. He would have been nice, but no one in Boston is losing any sleep over this. They still have a better pitching staff than the Yankees. Clemens upgrades it from "embarrassment" to "mess".
So,if clemens pitches well. Moose,Wang,Pettite and Hughes comes back(sooner than originally thought) it's a mess? I don't think so.
No. Obviously he's a huge upgrade over Tavarez, but it's not like their playoff hopes hinged on signing him. They can get along fine without him, so they didn't need to go overboard for him. Like I said, he would have been a luxury, nothing more.
The bullpen is a disaster. None of the starters have shown the ability to consistently eat up innings. Clemens isn't going to help on that end at all. The bullpen will continue to be overworked. Yes, the staff as a whole is still a mess. So they'll be getting 5 or 6 out of 45 innings a week from Clemens instead of Igawa. That still leaves 40 innings.
Coming from you, that's probably the funniest thing I've read all day. Do you really believe that the Yankees pitching staff has been good so far? That they aren't the main reason the team is below .500? Look at the stats buddy. They have the 5th worst ERA in baseball. The starters have pitched 144 innings (with the 4th worst ERA in baseball) and the bullpen has pitched 116 innings. That's a split of 55%/45%. That's absolutely atrocious. By comparison the Red Sox bullpen has only pitched 77 1/3 innings, the fewest in baseball. The Yankee bullpen IS severely overworked, and if you don't think so, you apparently haven't been following the Yankees at all.
every word you post is drivel. You never actually make a point, his point is valid, the yankees pen has been a mess, and Clemens averaged under 6 IP in the NL last year, so you're talking about a 5 inning guys.
The pitching has been much better as of late, and i expected it to be. You are judging the first 20 or so games. the SR is getting healthy and it will take the strain off the bullpen leaving that to improve also. With or without Clemens i don't think you should count on the Yankees pitching staff woes to continue on through the season.
No, I don't think they have been good. Do I think they have been hurt with four starters on the DL and the bullpen overused because of it? Of course I do. Do I think you have even seen the Yankee pitching staff this year? No, I don't.
And you pick one line out of what he said. The drivel, I'm afraid is coming from you. The reason you think I don't make a point is because you disagree with every point I make. That's your perogative but at least make some sense.
I dont mean to sign like a broken record, but its only 29 games. A lot can change between now and then. The Yankees rotation looks like a mess now, but give me one week where I can have the staff in its entirety healthy at the same time. I am not worried as Yankees fan. We have suffered worse starts statistically and injury wise. Things will come together. There will be october baseball in the bronx
he posted about the overwork of the bullpen, and that it was not going to be improved by clemens, and you attacked him. He made a seriosu post, you didn't post any reasoning for you disagreement. And throughout other threads everytime i see your posts they are single lines of some outrageous comment with nothing backing them up, then when someone disagrees with you in a reasonable way, backing up their assertions you make some cheap personal attack.
is this some kind of comedy clip? is that how she really sounded? if you've ever seen the rosie odonnell retard movie where she sounds like pee wee herman that's exactly what it reminded me of. i think my favorite part of the whole things is the hatred sterling has for the entire affair. susan is like some 12 year old with a crush and sterling sounds like he wants to punch clemens in the face for getting in the way of his voice. it's fantastic.
She sounded like a straight trucker talking into a CB radio. In the Clemens interview...Did she SNORT while she was laughing?
This quote from Clemens made me laugh...........from espn.com article on signing w. the Yanks while he was at a celebrity golf tourney...... "If you think it's about money, you're greatly mistaken. I'm not going to put my body through the paces I put my body through to earn a few more dollars," Thats a joke. Clemens shops his bid to the highest bidder's and the bidder must agree to his rules/conditions in regards to team travel and family. Thats a fact. He's a business man and an athlete and should not make ridiculous quotes like that.
No one is bigger then "the team", "the proud franchise"....except, Roger - The greatest Yankee ever. Arod is going to want a deal where he has his own dugout and locker room.
