Trade the guy outside of the division.....i dont understand why we have to get rid of him in first place....he's great for depth
I love trading him to the Dolphins. They probably aren't going anywhere this year and in a year or two Kendal is toast. I would love to steal a pick from the Dolphins, it makes us better tomorrow and makes them worse. Both the Jets and Dolphins are reloading it's a great stradegy to unload old players in the division for picks.
Probably right. I still cannot believe that the Dolphins, with all the trouble they've had over the last few years with QB injuries, are going to trade another draft pick for a QB who was injured last season. He's 37 years old too so they're guaranteed to get screwed shortly even if he doesn't get concussed again and retired.
If it's a rebuilding year the Jets should have Adrian Jones at LG or maybe Bender. There's no point in having a 33 year old guy take that spot on the line unless the season has some jazz in it.
I understand that...but he can always be used injuries do happen. Also i think he's good to have around for the younger Oline we have on the roster so he can some what mentor them...i just dont agree with it....o'well P.S if we happen to pick up Andruzzi....i'll be fine wit trading kendall
Didn't Kendall just get an extention to his deal last year? The FO may just not want to renegociate each year with him. That said they know he would not be happy with that and are worried that he will become a cancer in the clubhouse. Personally, I would not trade him in the division for less that a 2nd rounder. He still has a couple of years left and they have to pay a premium for each time we have to face him. Out of the division I say a 3rd rounder. Look at the money that is now being thrown at guards, their value is up so don't settle for a 4th.
i mean if we get a good pick for him, then trade him BUT he's valuable to us. he would be our starting left guard and he's our backup center. he knows all the plays
You're not gonna get a good pick for him. He's a 33-year old guard. He's not a pro-bowler. A 4th rounder would be a blessing as far as value goes. I'm not saying get rid of him. He is a fine player, but he's not a top tier player at his position. Who in their right mind would give a 2nd round pick for a 33 year old interior lineman who's not a pro-bowler and is being traded because he is unhappy with his contract? What team would give up anything of significant value for a guy you would have to resign to a reworked deal? If he's traded, it's because we couldn't work anything out with him. And if it gets to that point and he becomes a problem, we would prob cut him anyway.
Good points. I would rather see him stay but if he does indeed become a lockerroom tumor, it would be best to get whatever we can for him. A 4th rounder sounds about right.
Yeah I am content with Kendall, but if he becomes a problem then let's try to get what we can for him. You don't like trading within your division, but if we can fleece the Fins, I say we do it. I mean that's the team that gave up a 2nd for AJ Feeley.
If we could trade Kendall for a 4th or 5th rounder, and bring in Andruzzi to replace him, i?m fine with that. Yeah, it would be a downgrade over last year, but we?re not building for this year, we?re building for 2009-2010 maybe 2008 if thing work out great, so in that years it would be a upgrade, to have someone young with the pick we got for Kendall, than haveing Kendall. I don?t want to loose Kendall, but i think Andruzzi + a pick is better than Kendall. Don?t get me wrong, i don?t wanna lose him but replacing him with Andruzzi + getting a pick to built this team sounds fair. And Kendall doesn?t get better, when he gets older, yeah i know u can play O-Line on a very high level in age, but kendall isn?t a usual O-Lineman, he?s undersized and needs very good athleticism to compete in this league. Kendall is 33 years old, he?s going to loose some of that athleticism evey day, thats y i think his performance will decrease rapidly over the next to years, and we need someone to replace him next year anyways. I think he knows that, and thats the reason y he wants to cash in this year. Btw i got no problem, with spending several millions on veterans for deph, we got a lot of Cap space anyway, so y not have some experienced players in for insurance and helping the young guys developing. Mentoring is a very important thing this years in the NFL. And don?t expect too much out of Bender there?s a 90% Chance, that he?ll never start a NFL game.
My point was that a 2nd rounder has to be the cost to a division rival for him, We have to make them over pay because we would have to face the player twice a year and he knows our system. If we cut him I hope he does not go in our division but he probably would because he has higher value to our rivals.
If you think Miami is going to be better than us with Kendal and that deal keeps us out of the SB, I agree with you. I don't see it that way. I love dealing him in the division to a weak sister who is willing to give up future picks for him.
How can anyone even fathom that this is a rebuilding year? We are coming off a 10 win playoff season. We just picked up a great starting running back and traded away our whole draft for 2 players. This was done to get 2 players who will produce and contribute now. We also overpaid big time for a starting de-Coleman. anyone who thinks this team is rebuilding is not paying attention. Mangini and Tannenbaum are trying to win the Super Bowl this year.
This like last year is a rebuilding year. Our OL is a seive and our DL is at best suspect. You don't compete against the best when you're out matched at the point of attack.
i dont wanna see him leave, let alone to Miami. our whole offense is predicated on unpredictability. having someone who assisted our C with line calls go to our rival, would be hell. imagine kendall bringing all the knowledge of our Offense to MIA. no thank you. itr would end up like the raping the phins gave the pats after they got brady's line calls.
