I just read this morning that now they think he will go at #10 to Denver who they expect to trade with Houston for that pick. In any event, I agree there is no chance he will fall to #25.
denver will definitely be jumping on carriker. hes far too versatile and has the raw size that is becoming a premium in the league today. after lucking out on recycled browns DL. im sure they want a cornerstone to that defense once bailey retires, and they can get it in carriker.
I agree. I think in the long run, Carriker will not be better than Coleman. In the unlikely event that he does slide all the way down to the 25th slot, Penning10toColes and I will be throwing the first ever "piss-in-your-pants" party at East Rutherford.
With the recent rumours of stress fractures in Branch's shins, I am not too comfortable with drafting him...
In rd 1? nfldraftcountdown has the Pats taking him in round 1 but I dont rate him that high. He is going to be a good player but should be mor of a mid to late rd 2 guy
I do think we will make this move. I don't know who it will be that we pick by moving up, but I think that if the Jets see a guy they want available in a position that they can move up to, they won't hesitate. Also, If there is nobody left at 25 that we want, I think we will trade into a higher 2nd round spot and pick up an extra 3rd rounder or something.
Denver is going to take Patrick Willis if they trade up to the 10. They just released Al Wilson and to have Willis drop in their lap is going to be a godsend. Otherwise I'm guessing they stop Beason's fall at 21.
Yeah if he didn't have the injury history he'd be a mid to late 20's guy but I see him as more mid-2nd round with the history.
And that means he has good sources. I'll guarantee you that not more than a half dozen people in the Jet's organization would have known that Revis was such a priority target that the Jets would trade up for him instead of just taking the CB that fell to them.
Also could just mean he took a 50/50 shot and was right. The thing about these guys.. when they're wrong, noone remembers.
Calling both the trade-up and the player involved is much more than a 50/50 guess. You gotta predict the trade-up and then know that the Jets wanted Revis over Hall, even though at that time Hall was still seen as the best corner available. A little birdy musta whispered something in his ear.
I don't know... I'm still skeptical... Really was 50/50 calling the trade up, then another 50/50 for calling the player... I'm not terribly impressed by these guys "predicting" things.. they're wrong often.
i wanted to call his show yesterday and ask him how he knew, but I was tied up. He definitely called it. Maybe he talked to Revis' agent...
The last person the Jets would have told was Revis agent. Who knows where Revis really wanted to play (I'm guessing Pittsburgh) and what he would tell the other teams higher on his list.
