you would have a point, except for the Raiders history of telling players to sit and spin. Marcus Allen and Jerry Porter ring a bell? every team in the NFL knows Moss' value, and the Raiders got robbed. and, yes, Branch's value has everything to do with this. comparable player salaries and trade value sets the market for future values. if all a team is willing to give is a 4th, Randy Moss at 9 million is worth far more than what you get for a 4th.
Repeat: the ONLY team they could deal with is NE because that's the only team he would restructure for. It amounts to a no-trade clause because nobody else is going to deal for an iffy personality who is over 30 and has a cap hit over $9 million. And guess what? The Pats know that! They also know that Kiffin doesn't want him and Moss wants out. It was the 4th rounder or cut him and get nothing. Get over it.
Don't take it out of context... if you can look at yourself in the mirror and honestly think that Randy Moss doesn't help the Patriots, and help them immediatly because he's a "cancer" then you need to put the pipe down, sit down and watch some more football.
Then you keep him on the roster, you don't give him away for nothing. oak isn't going to be good next year w/ or w/o him. If he doesn't want to go anywhere besides NE you tell him he stays and loses w/ the Raiders next year. He'll evntually blink and you could get a better deal.
I love your posting style! Lets see if I am catching on... If you honestly think that Moss is going to help the Patriots then you're an ass and you smoke lots of drugs. How'd I do? Throw out random insults without any content... SWEET. Good job Ellis92!!!
This is either Belichicks last year or next year is. Bet on it. It's going to suck going against Moss every week, but it will be over soon. Unfortunately, once he leaves, they wil still have Tom Brady and Randy Moss on the team.
Moss does help out the Pats, and I would MUCH prefer they didn't get him. However, there's a reason he bounces around everywhere. He's a cancer. He doesn't give 100%. He's a distraction and a major ego. Nobody can deny his talent though.
I could dummy it dow to english you might understand... maybe 3rd grade english... but I don't have the time nor the desire. If you don't like what I post, please feel free to pass up anything I post. I wasn't insulting you personally, but if you take it as one it tells a lot about you. It would be like when I say something crazy to my nephew, and he says... what, are you on crack... I suppose, in your view I should take that as a personal insult, even when we both know that I'm not on crack... In short, grow up, and stop looking for an argument that isn't there... Ellis
Put the pipe down and step away from the computer. If this is his last year why would he NOT use his 2nd #1 pick this year. Answer...because he will be the Patriot coach for a long time. And when he's done with coaching he will have a lifetime position in upper management with ownership options.
It's an interesting idea, but I think we would get more of a benefit of putting Revis on him. Kind of like the year the Falcons drafted Deangelo Hall. There was a big deal about they way put Hall on Owens when they played the Eagles that season, but he kept Owens out of the endzone and the Falcons won that game. BTW, I think that they way we traded up and drafted Revis is a nice wakeup call for Justin Miller, hopefully it will positively affect his focus on the field. Or lack thereof.
Check it... Wide receiver Randy Moss just held a conference with the media here at Gillette Stadium. Surreal scene, as 35 media members gathered around a speaker box and microphones and tape recorders were piled on the table. NFL Network and ESPN are on the scene. Moss opened with a statement: ?How?s everybody doing? Thank you all for taking your time out, for patiently waiting. I don?t think you all understand how excited I am to be a part of this organization. I think their record and what they?re about speaks massive volumes. I?m just very, very happy to find some happiness and getting back to what I love to do ? that?s play football and going out there and compete.? At the end of the conference call, Moss was asked about running a 4.29 40-yard dash in front of Bill Belichick. ?The Moss of old is back,? he said. ?We?ll leave it at that.?
No skin off my nose bro. I am definitely not looking for an argument. I just found it pretty hilarious how you came at me. Your reply to my intial post was like my opinion that Moss isn't going to work out in NE is so preposterous to you that I am a complete idiot to even suggest it. When I think it's a definite crap shot. I am sure many Patriots fans would agree its not a given that Moss and the Pats will be a great fit.
As a Pats fan I agree.. I was listening to WEEI in Boston earlier and not everyone is on board with this..But I am excited
This guy is a year or two from a coronary, man, look at the way he looks in the 4th quarter compared to the 1st, if that vein in his neck got any bigger you could hang clothes on it. BTW, this move certainly flys in the face of the 'no-superstar' philosophy that has gotten the Pats where they were. How does it feel to be a New York Yankee fan? Because that's what you're feeling right now. The Yankess just got Giambi.
Tom Brady is not a superstar? That's news to me. That aside...let's make one thing clear. The Patriots base their moves on making the football team better. Randy Moss is thrilled to play for this first class organization and he will not be allowed to carry the "I'm a superstar bagage. If he does, Rodney and Tedy will smack him in the mouth and he will be cut. It's that simple.
