Most people with negative views on this draft saying "we need a pass rusher, or run stuffer at NT." Name me one nose tackle on Day 1 we should have drafted with our picks in RD 2 + 3 before the trade?
We have to. Barton,Barrett and J-mac must be dealt in order to acheive any more picks. No 2008 draft picks at all unless (6th or 7th) should be dealt.Wheres the G,DT,WR?
We talked briefly to Houston for the #10. I would have to assume that was to get Carriker, maybe Willis. Not Revis. I was happy to read we at least tried. I think that would have been a much more needed pick for us. He can play any position in the 3-4 or 4-3 except NT.
BArton & Barrett will just be released, why would any team give up a draft pick knowing that? The one team that has been rumored to have some interest in JMac was Tenn who drafted a WR in the 3rd, so cross them off. We have two picks left in this draft, I wouldn't expect that to change.
Excellent question. It's obvious that Tan and Man don't put great value on this draft. One only has to look at what NE is doing to confirm that. Though it's speculation you can make the argument that the Jets out maneuvered the Pats assuming Harris and Revis were their targets also. To get back to your question. If the Jets trade JMac for a 4th (if the Jets could) - why are the Jets doing that? Who in the 4th round is needed? What does it do to our passing game? JMac did have a small, but at times successful role here. Everyone screams that the Jets need a ROADGRADER. Do they? Who are they developing? Even if the Jets need an OL maybe these guys they EXHAUSTIVELY evaluated aren't good enough. You don't fill a need on paper for the sake of the exercise. Finally, fans don't like trading up because it kills the action -fans like quantity on draft day. For all you trade down fans look at NE - they got alot of draft picks in a draft they don't like. THE TIME IS NOW.
