this umpire's strike zone is definitely of the consistent but bad variety, probably the reason why the score is still 0-0 in the top of the 10th.
The Mets have seen quite a few of those recently. I wonder what happened to umpires who actually called the strike zone as it is (and don't even get me started on how pitches above the belt are considered balls now - I'm talking about these pitches that are 6 inches low and 4 inches outside that are called strikes).
what was THAT? was Beltran having flashbacks to the Mike Cameron collision? Looks like he should have caught that
it looked like Beltran was going to catch that, but he seemed to pull up a bit at the end, whether because of the wall or Green I don't know. also, i don't care what the Mets bullpen ERA is this season, it has been absolutely putrid when it matters and this will be loss #3 out of 7 on the top 2 guys in the pen.
