given the timing, it would have to be for a player that is falling late which just screams Alan Branch to me. I would have no problem with that - i know some people think he's a bust, but he just doesn't look that way to me.

100% agree, although you can throw Carriker into my list of acceptables as well.

If we could trade #25 and #56 for Carriker, I'd be thrilled. Along those same lines, does anyone know how Jamaal Anderson would fit into a 3-4 defense?

  4. I'm willing to bet it's for either Carriker, Willis or Revis

Mine too but we could probably get him at around #12.

I'll take Carriker in that list. I just don't think moving up 5 spots would get us him.

Be careful what you say man....I had Revis pegged up at 25 in our 1st board draft and believe me people came from out of nowhere to attack me and the pick calling Revis ''overrated'' and what not.

I love Revis and think he's ideal for this team and I would be happy to trade up for him but a majority of people on here dont like him from what I have seen.

I think people just don't like corners in the first round. Especially if it involves additional picks to get one.

We are going to let the draft come to us. And I think if Blalock is on the board at 25 we take him. Tanny has to be thinking we better get tough up front offensively if we are going to compete with the Pats.

We better get tough defensively if we are going to compete with anybody.

For the most part Cornerbacks are the guys whose hands were too bad to play Wide Receiver in high school.

Safeties come from everywhere and include a lot of ex-QB's so they make sense as great athletes, frequently with good football smarts.

So, yeah, it takes a very special CB to be a good first round pick. Now and then you have a truly great athlete like Deion Sanders or a complete package player like Aaron Glenn, but mostly you have people with a piece missing like Chris Houston.

I wouldnt be shocked to see them move up to get a corner. Remember that moving up isnt the same as overpaying, and that the Jets, quite simply, are in desperate need of help at cornerback.

That said, I dont know who theyd be going for. Leon Hall isnt likely to fall past 12 or so... I guess the Jets could jump up there if he were to fall that far, but its unlikely that he does. Everybody below Hall I dont know enough about to say whether or not Id guess the Jets would want or need to trade up to get them. And I dont think the Jets have such pressing needs at any other position that theyd feel a need to trade up to be sure they get their guy.

Arron Glenn was the last corner the Jets took with a first round pick. If there was another like him I would have to think long and hard about it. I mean giving up additional picks. Obviously I would take one like that in a second if he was there at 25.

It could be overpaying. Look at the guarentees those guys in the top 15 get.

    #25 + #59 (1030 pts.)= #15/#16 (1000/1050)

    #25 + #63 (996 pts.) = #16/#17 (1000/950)

That could get us either Leon Hall or Darrelle Revis, which are the two I'd want.

I don't buy into that report though. I don't think we'll trade up...

    #25 + #59 + #63(1306) = #10 (1300) gets us maybe Okoye..

We get Carriker with even less then 15-17. Maybe our first and third which would be probably #20.

I think we can probably get a lot of value of of those picks...the first round talent isn't that great this year.

thats the first name that popped into my head too.....and with the way branch is falling right now (probably out of the top 10) he might be someone they are targeting.....

it would be funny if they moved up to draft brady quinn.....

That's an interesting point. Would you want a lot of value with those picks. Players who may never be starters but basically ok or would you prefer to trade all three for one sure fire star? The term value to me usually means mediocre.
