Kansas City Chiefs are shopping Larry Johnson Mike Williams is being shopped by the Lions Trent Green is angry with Chiefs GM Carl Peterson Ronnie Brown showed up to the Dolphins mini camp overweight Ricky Williams is unlikely to be traded to the Rams Alan Faneca is not expected to show up to the Steelers mini camp due to contract extension issues
This would surprise me.He's one of the biggest talents in the league. You don't shop someone like him unless there's a serious problem either with his body or attitude. Maybe they sign Ricky ricky williams
Wow, shopping Larry Johnson. There is something nobody knows there. Something other then his attitude too.
I'm pretty sure he called out Herm in a few different round-a-bout ways late last season.......I bet he is having a lot of problems with the Cheifs management.......I don't really know how they can trade LJ, and for what.......they could get a shitload though
They better move quick. If people think they are drafting a back then his value will go down only because they will have to get rid of him then.
how so?...considering workhorse backs are becoming rarer in this league... they need to add another rb to prevent LJ from burning out anyway...whether they move him or not they should add a rb
Michael Bennett is still on the roster and played well when used. Problem was he was used sparingly. You can blame Herman Edwards for that. I list Bennett's high jump over a Seattle defender as the most athletic play in the league last year.
I'm sure they have a back. The reason is that the rumor is out they are shopping him. If the rumor wasn't there then it wouldn't matter. It is and his value will diminish if they draft a good back on Saturday. On another note, Turner will probably be traded for a 3rd before Saturday and I will be really upset if he is. Especially if he goes to Buffalo. People that were glad to see McGahee go will be wishing he were back.
I read it yesterday on one of the NFL sites. It's only Buffalo and the Titans in the running. Both are offering no more then a third right now. Sure they coud keep Turner for spite but it wouldn't be good business sense. They would have to pay him 2.3 million this year to sit on the bench and then get nothing next year for him when he becomes unrestricted.
There's no way that Smith will trade him for just a 3rd rounder. Anyway, the Chiefs would be wise to trade LJ. Doubt it happens, though.
Because turner may run for 400 a year or more. McGahee had 176 yards in 2 games in 2004 258 in 2005 275 in 2006 I'm sure Turner can do that easily.
If the Chiefs trade LJ it will be solely because they think they wore too much tread off his tires with the 400+ carries last season. That's a number of carries that almost always spells disaster in the couple of seasons following. The NFL knows this. Nobody is going to acquire LJ at anything approaching what you would consider to be his true value. The Chiefs could not even get a 1st round pick for him now.
Maybe he can, maybe he can't - I'll take my chances rather than KNOWING that McGahee is going to destroy us.
No RB is worth a #1 pick, with one obvious exception, and even he only has a couple more years before people would balk at that compensation.
This might have something to do with the Chiefs shopping LJ LJ might be free after 2007 Larry Johnson, RB KC News: Based on a clause in his contract, Chiefs RB Larry Johnson can void the final two years of his contract after this season and test free agency, reports NFL Network. Thusly, the rumors about Kansas City being interested in drafting a running back this year makes sense. It was reported that the Chiefs would bring in a rookie RB to help spell Larry Johnson this year, who is going to take on a (slightly) reduced workload in '07. Now the rookie would also be insurance in case Johnson goes into free agency next season ... assuming the Chiefs don't franchise him first.
if someone gets desperate...the chargers or rb needy team a 2nd round pick and another late pick should be reasonable if they do let turner walk then they wont lose everything...comp. picks are designed for this exact situation....they will end up with a pick in two years(and at worst would be a 4th rounder)
