10. TEXANS - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan - I still don't like Branch there... 16. PACKERS - Marshawn Lynch, RB, California - Same here... 19. TITANS - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU - I think the Titans go for the Tennessee University player since they always seems to pick alot of guys from there... 24. PATRIOTS - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan - All the way to #24? If he gets to that far, we should try to swap picks with NE somehow. 35. BUCCANEERS - Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State - Seems a bit low... Very low that is... 39. TEXANS - Marcus McCauley, CB, Fresno State - That's Atlanta's pick via the Matt Schaub trade. 54. CHIEFS - Trent Edwards, QB, Stanford - Don't forget about their Day 1 QB Brodie Croyle last season.. I doubt they've given up on him yet. All in all, that's still a job well done as I only focused on the negatives of your mock as everything else not mentioned in my post was acceptable IMO.
I totally respect your knowledge Jabba, and I for one am all for focusing on defense, but with that said, I'd be very disappointed with this draft. Passing on both Spencer and Posluszny for Houston would kill me, especially if we settle for Abiamiri as our OLB. I also hear some think Alama-Francis might be more an OLB than DE. Given the way you layed things out I'd be much happier with: Spencer OLB, Harrell DE and a CB or OL or maybe an inside linebacker (Bradley from Nebraska?) at 63, or Posluszny at ILB, Harrell DE and Crowder or Alama-Francis at OLB. Oh damn, I missed you had Harrell at 18. Back to the drawing board.
Oops! Thanks for the heads up, PA .. much appreciated I made the edit and projected Jarvis Moss to the Falcons at 39, then McCauley to Miami
Based on some rumors I heard, I just made a few more edits .. the Jets 1st RD Pick is one of them, but I made a few more as well, most coming between 25 and 39
You can nod or shake your head, but if you have any info regarding the jets really liking Blalock...you'd make me and many others a very happy pappy
No I don't have anything like that, Kurt .. nothing concrete .. Just the normal internet rumors we all hear at this time of year, but I don't think anyone outside of Tangini knows what they really have in mind .. these two cats can keep secrets with the best of them I Just made a few edits based on some rumors, but more so based on my own gut feelings I Just have a feeling the Jets will take Blalock or Grubbs, but having projected Grubbs to KC at #23 I feel more comfortable projecting Blalock to the Jets .. if I'm trying to get it right, as opposed to considering what I would or wouldn't do, I feel more comfortable with the Blalock projection than the initial Chris Houston projection I'd be happy with either guy, or Anthony Spencer, but my gut says it's Justin Blalock
I like it Jabba, I'm not too high on Francis or Abiamiri, but I definitly think that we will pick both a DE and LB on the first day. Personally I like Robison and Woodley over Abiamiri. I know you have Woodley off the board before we pick, but he may slide/ I also like Josh Wilson in the 2nd, I think he may slide a little more as well. The other thing I noticed, was that both of the Steelers picks were for 3-4 D players, however there are strong rumors that they may go with the cover 2. If they do decide to go cover 2, that could shake up the whole draft board.
Looks good Jabba. I think that Ryan McBean has more upside than Francis though. I would also consider one of the WRs available at # 63.
If Carriker is still available at 15, I'd send our 1st round pick and one of the 2nd rounders to Pitt and grab him, if possible.
