I would think he would be a great fit for the Jets. He blocks very well, is a selfless player, can get tough yards and has very good hands. All the makings of a very good FB, something we don't have anymore. He's not the same as Askew in the sense that he was the featured back for a bit but when Rice came on he put the team first and took second fiddle to Rice in the backfield opening holes for him and then providing that power when needed.

Granted I'm a bit biased since I went to Rutgers but he does seem to have all the tools and is the type of player that fits the Jets mold. With FB a need, maybe not as much as some of our other needs, I'd still like to see them draft him if he's around when they pick in the 2nd or 3rd if he falls

If Blalock is available at 25, I think we need to do this. I don't have the Blalock video URL highlight clip anymore, but check it out and tell me Chad & Company couldn't move some chains with this guy road-grading and protecting to the right.

This would instantly make everyone better... Thomas Jones, Leon Washington, the TE's, WR's and even Pennington himself.

  4. I also love Blalock. I just hope we trade down a few spots to nab him, as his value(on the consensus big board) is somewhere between the 30th and 40th pick. For us, he is def. worth alot more than that, but we can definitely stand to add acouple more picks for late day 1/early day 2, while still getting a player that will help from day 1, and could be the final piece to a longstanding dominant OL.

I agree Kurt. However, if Blaylock's there I might not risk it becuase you don't know any of the other teams' boards. I've seen a few mocks having the Bears taking either Blaylock or Grubbs so I may not want to risk that if I'm Tanny. He probably has a much better idea than we do of everyone else's board, however, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with whatever he decides to do.

  6. I actually view the Bears as a potential trading partner(I know you were just using them as an example). They may want to jump up if a guy like Olsen or Meachem is there at #25, and might be willing to part w/ our former 2nd round pick..
