Don't forget AJ Davis as a possible 3rd round corner. Couple other things: Abamiri as a LB - interesting. Okoye to Atlanta - also interesting. My impression was that they wanted to get bigger on both lines, which makes him a bit of a misfit, but I guess if you're talented enough you can play anywhere. Pozluzsny and JArvis Moss in round two - that's quite a fall for both of them, especially Poz. I like both the first rounder for the Pats, but I just feel like they'd se more value in Poz's versatility than Anthony Spencer. re: the first six picks. It's funny. Two months ago, that's how most thought it would go, then all sorts of crazy projections hit the streets, and now we're once again back where we started. Funny. Anthony Waters in round 2: wow, that's what I call a late rise Bengals taking Tank Tyler? Can't get any love, huh? Last: gotta LOVE that Jets draft. EDIT: gotta come back and say, you did a great job on all these picks. They all make sense need wise and scheme wise. Excellent mock.
nice work. two things: i'm not a fan of Abiamiri because i think he's pretty slow and haven't heard much about his intangibles. and, man, i hate the Pats. cheers
Nice Job Jabba but you know i'm going to be hoping the Jets have the guts to take Anthony Spencer. I like the Abiamiri pick but not the francis one.
Hate it Jabba, and hope it doesn't go that way. We signed like 18 DE's this offseason, 25% of which are tweeners. Barrett is done for. Any mock that doesn't have us getting a OG and a CB is not going to be high in my eyes. Nothing personal, and I've appreciated your mocks for years now. Maybe some explanation is on order?
Very plausible Jabba...good work. Some points: -I don't see quinn going that early (another mirer?) -I don't see anderson going to the falcons, they have a lot more needs and he is a boom or bust -Branch is perfect for the Texans, but DLs in 1st 2 yrs in row? They need to make a splash if they are going to keep fans...probably something stupid like olsen or lynch -are the panthers dumb enough to take olsen that early? -Steelers are gettin hooked the f up -Cowboys will go D -I think ginn will go sooner, probably before the others -Love Blalock...he's as much of a lock as Mangold last year -Big reach on Jarrett -Poz definitely falls to the 2nd -and what's with the run on tackles? -then CB's...are they a little early...or worth it? -Leonard to the Bills? interesting...but I see him dropping to late 2/early3 -Woodley probably will go that high based on upside...:steelers: -Bush might be early...maybe bills in the 3rd -I'd take crowder before Abe II -I like Francis, but quite a gamble that soon -Hughes might come our way with one of those 2s -and there is no chance in hell the Bengals go near anyone without a glowing circle over their head
I'd hate those jets picks except for the OLB pick in the 2nd round. No guards in rd 1, and please dear god, no DE's!
I'm really surprised you didn't go for Chris Houston in Round one Jabba, I know you're a big fan of his, as am I, he'd be a great pick there at #25. I personally would prefer he, Spencer, or Jarvis Moss (honestly, can't for the life of me figure why he's falling).
I'm a huge Posluszny fan. I'm really surprised he drops into the second round here. I'd be satisfied but not thrilled if the Jets went this way with their draft; I don't think we should go with a DE project when we already signed so many.
good mock....i wouldnt really care for the jets draft, but i can see that happening its tough to predict the top 10...b/c it seems someone will hold CJ hostage for extra draft picks and screw up any prediction as for the rest -rough broncos draft...i dont think the broncos will pass on ginn jr. b/c he would fill a few holes for them...especially since he would fall to the rival chiefs in that scenario...and the michael bush pick is just mean -jaguars would get a ridiculous duo of safeties....
I would definitely take Houston in that spot, but I get the sense he's falling and the Jets might pass for Blalock who can play RT or OG, where the Jets can use a Blue-Chip Road Grader at either spot Having said that, you can count Gil Brandt amongst those who are luke-warm on Chris Houston http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/expert/brandt/cb
Thanks vilmatic I try to weigh needs, schemes and value equally, as I believe most war-rooms do .. sometimes that produces a decent mock draft and sometimes not, but I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out I like the balance of needs, schemes and value for the most part, though I may tweak it one more time prior to next weekend, which is why your comments {and all of the comments, pro and con} are greatly appreciated
010. TEXANS - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan - I don't like them taking a DT in Rd. 1 since they took Travis Johnson recently... Plus, I think Branch could fall a bit more. 011. 49ERS - Patrick Willis, ILB, Ole Miss - This could very well happen.... 016. PACKERS - Marshawn Lynch, RB, California - I think their going to go for RB in the 2nd since there are some better guys out there then... Pittman, Leonard, Irons, Hunt... - Darrelle Revis ahead of Leon Hall? 035. BUCCANEERS - Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State - Woah, he should be middle of round 1. He's a true classic LB. 056. BRONCOS - Michael Bush, RB, Louisville - I think he's scared most teams into the 4th round... Plus, they have Cobbs/Henry/Ball as RBs. Jets draft is solid... I'd be OK with it... Overall, this is a job well done. Nice job.
