Nice gesture by Vick, seems like a small amount for someone with his kind of money, but nice none the less.

I am not minimizing the gesture ...but:

    10,000/33= $303

Michael Vick can't seem to win, I suppose.

I understand what y'all are saying, but I can't condemn Vick for donating money, however large or small.

Seriously, 10 grand is 10 grand.

Is he supposed to give up a year's salary? It's a kind gesture.

nah it's definitely a kind gesture, and I don't think anyone is condemning him. I give the man credit for taking money out of his own pocket to give to complete strangers in need. It just seems kinda weak for someone with his money that's all.

I understand that. I was not blasting him. But 10k to him is like a person who makes 50k donating $215

$10,000, what a joke. It's a tax write off, he should donate $100,000.

I'm sorry but I just don't think this is anything more than a pr plug. The man is a millionaire and you're telling me he can only spare 300 a person? Do you guys have any idea how much funerals cost these days? Like it was said money is money but he can certainly give up more and people will praise him for this rather than calling him what he really is: a cheapskate

I guarantee he spends more on weed each year than 10k.

Nonetheless, it is a nice gesture.

Okay, did you send your $215?

I sure don't make 50K, but considering I would rather spend my $215 on a new authentic jersey than give it to families I don't know... I consider it a nice gesture.

Have DeAngelo Hall and Kevin Jones sent their checks yet?

again he has to pay taxes on all of the money he makes, he could some of those taxes off by making a nice donation to a charity. It's not like he's taking the money out of his pocket.

    Did I go to VT?

Did I release a statement on what I donated to whom?

hello.... he donated 10,000 to a fund, the fund is also collecting money which will be distributed to the families, so they are not getting 303 each, and its 32 victims, 33 would be including himself

I bet Vick wears more than $10,000 dollars worth of jewerly to bed every night. And by 'jewelry', I don't mean 'marijuana'.

it's a total PR plug and it's obvious. Why do you think it was all over every website the second he did it?

But at least he donated. That's more than most athletes do. PR plug or not, it does help.

    let's analyze this:

$10,000 is about one-thousandth of what he makes purely from the Falcons each season (nevermind endorsements, signings, etc.). $10,000 is HALF of what he paid for giving the fans in the Georgia Dome the finger.
