Well here's my latest NFL mock draft. This one is a little different since it includes two trades, which are very reasonable and realistic IMO and are included just to make this a little more interesting.

I know I just posted another mock a little over a week ago, but these are too fun to do and the draft only comes around once a year. Surprisingly, this one took under an hour. Well, here it is:

First 3 rounds and didn't address our biggest glaring need at DT, don't like it.

Not a bad job man. I wouldn't mind if it turned out like that at all. Also, I don't think we have a glaring need at DT. Lets give DRob another year and we also have Pouha behind him.

What true NT's are there available in the first 3 rounds?

I can only think of Paul Soliai, the guy from Utah... He too has character concerns.

    Be reasonable...

He's 6'6" but people are starting to talk about Branch as though he'd fit best as a space filler 3-4 NT. There've been a few tall NT's recently, but nobody 6'6".

Ok, we realize you want a DT, but what DT are the Jets going to draft who fits the NT position in the 3-4? The only one is the guy who has the off field issues and he wont be a jet...

If you want to look at a late round prospect, consider Quintin Echols or Keith Jackson for NT...

All seems very reasonable. I hate seeing Walker picked that early but if SD doesn't go WR in round 1, it could definitely happen just like that. I don't know too much about Courtney Taylor, but in the third round there we should absolutely go WR if everything else pans out like that.

    Edit:

    Strengths:
Has excellent size and a solid build...A good natural athlete...Great body control and ball skills...Decent route runner and knows how to get open...Will make some spectacular catches...Tough and not afraid to work over the middle...Very physical and really knows how to use his size...A solid blocker...Was not always utilized in college and still has some upside...Clutch on 3rd downs...Has a lot of experience.

    Weaknesses:
Does not have great timed speed and will have trouble separating...Drops some balls he shouldn't due to a lack of concentration...Is not a big play or deep threat and won't stretch the field vertically...Won't do much after the catch...Could stand to get a little stronger...Durability is a minor concern...Was never real productive.

    Notes:
Was definitely overshadowed by future pros like Ben Obomanu, Anthony Mix and Devin Aromashodu at times throughout his career but he might end up being the best prospect of the bunch...Was at his best as a sophomore but bounced back from a poor 2005 campaign and had a nice senior season...Not a true #1 target in the NFL but should at the very least be able to contribute as a possession guy.

Sounds like a poor man's version of Dwayne Jarrett. I like the pick. I'd still much rather have Walker but if Taylor's there and Walker isn't I think it's a solid pick.

BTW RobA this draft is really poor in prospects for NT in the 3-4. We can try gabbing one with a second day pick and see if they pan out but there's no reason to be using one on the first day unless if Alan Branch somehow falls to us (very fat chance).

I think his stock is on the rise. Unfortunately, I don't think we're the only ones who knows about this guy anymore... I think he'll come off the board anywhere from 2nd-early 3rd round.

Hey, he was able to produce big-time on a bad team I believe... Greg Olsen didn't

Oh, I agree 100%. I was say I'd hate to see him come off the board much like I'll hate seeing guys like Carriker come off the board before us because I think they'd be a great pick for us (even though there's no way Carriker gets to us at this point).

I'm hoping that if the Jets are really targeting him that they'll be able to package opne of Barrett, Barton, or McCairens (if they are really shopping them) along with their third rounder for either another second or at least to move up in the third (I don't know these draft value things too well so I have no idea where we should land based on their projected value).

Even if we take him in the 2nd, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world....

If we trade McCareins then Taylor looks like a solid replacement. Sounds like Cotchery light. The two nose tackles mentioned are both midgets 6'0 328? We need both height and girth because Robertson I believe is too small and light for the postion.

That pick assumes we cut or trade McCareins...

What's wrong with a shorter NT?

I believe Solia is 6'4'', my personal max height for a NT. I would take a stab at him in the fourth.

I'd be deeply, deeply disappointed if they passed on Spencer or Moss to take Blalock. As good as I think Blalock is, I'd much, much, MUCH rather go Spencer/Moss then Beekman in the 2nd round. I think that would fit our needs precisely, a polished, rugged run blocking guard and a proven pass rusher to come off the edge. As much as I like Robison, he's not ready to be much more than a rotational guy for a little while, as he wasn't even much more than that at Texas. Not to mention, two Texas players in the first 2 rounds is a little scary.

Please don't take this the wrong way but....

What ever made you think that Mr. Bill "Paranoid and Uptight" Belichik will ever make this trade with a division rival.

Even the signing of RFA Welker (WR) from Miami had to be sweetened by the Patriot's owner with a 7th. Rd pick in addition the the obligatory 2nd rounder just to cut down on the drama......hmmmm, think about it.
