If it was Moses or Woodley, not Robison, that would be the best draft of all time for me. Nice though, very nice. That's the order I like- OL- CB, LB, WR
Thanks. It might seem like overkill to spend a 3rd consecutive first round pick on a lineman to some, but if Blalock pans out, we're possibly going to have one of the best offensive lines in football. On Day 2, we should pick up another TE who is a solid blocker as well as a recieving threat. We should also consider a 3-4 DE or a safety in the 5th or 6th round.
VERY NICE.... but walker probably goes before #89......once these guys start coming off the board its a feast. jil
Their defense would be very scary if they got those three guys. All three units DL, LB, and DBs would be taken to another level.
I'd be very satisfied with that draft... Especially after how much I've seen about Blalock this week...
Excellent, excellent mock PA. I'm with Big Cotch that if Moses is there at 63 I probably take him and possibly Woodley over Robison. However, as you can see in my sig (which is pick-for-pick the same as yours) I don't think they'll be there. It'd be incredible for us, filling a need with a pick at great value every time our turn comes to choose.
Thanks. Your signature mock is now exactly like mine. It seems a lot of people are on the Blalock bandwagon now and share similar ideas on the Jets draft. I hope the Jets do also. I know they have interviewed Justin Blalock a couple of times and Brian Robinson too. I'm sure Josh Wilson is on their radar too.
There were reports during the senior bowl that they were specifically looking at Wilson at one point. I'd look for the old thread but I'm lazy  I don't think Eric Wright is gonna be there but if he's there I take a strong look as well. As Big Cotch said though, the draft order of OL-CB-LB-WR seems to be one that would fetch us the most value at each pick while also fulfilling a need.
From NFLDC: Height: 5-91/4 | Weight: 189 | 40-Time: 4.39 Strengths: Has phenomenal speed...A tremendous natural athlete with excellent quickness, agility and leaping ability...Tough and physical guy who plays a lot bigger than he is and will help against the run...Smart with good instincts...Hips are fluid and he can turn and run with anyone...Is also a terrific return man...Has good bloodlines. Weaknesses: Does not have the height you look for...Does not have great hands and while he gets to a lot of balls he doesn't rack up many interceptions...Is only an average tackler...Can get out-muscled by bigger receivers and blockers...Still needs a little technique work, especially with his backpedal...Is he going to hold up physically? Notes: One of the fastest players in the draft, regardless of position...Also ran sprints for the Terps track team...His father was a fullback at Maryland and the blocking back for NFL Hall of Famer Earl Campbell in Houston...A true football player and not just a track star in pads...Had an outstanding senior year and his stock is on the rise but in terms of the NFL Draft he will probably be held back by his lack of ideal size. I've seen him play and he's a player. His physical height is misleading be cause he has a pretty crazy vertical. He honestly on the field for one reason or another reminds me of Asante Samuel, minus the intercepting ability and plus some quickness; I really don't know why. He just carries himself the same way.
NFL.com compares him to Dominique Foxworth of the Broncos... This report sounds good... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=20420&page=2 Compares To: Domonique Foxworth, Denver -- Like his former teammate, Wilson packs a lot of punch behind his hits for a player his size … He is a smart player who adjusts his game accordingly and has the ability to play cornerback or free safety … He has good speed as a kickoff returner, but needs to field the ball cleanly to stop all those costly fumbles … Despite his speed, he lacks explosion coming out of his breaks and plays the zone much better than he does in man coverage (much better in plays in front of him) … He got away with trash talking at the collegiate level, but needs to open his hips better and develop better hands if he wants to be an elite playmaker at the next level. Campus: 4.28 in the 40-yard dash … 350-pound bench press … 495-pound squat … 300-pound power clean … 36?-inch vertical jump … 28 7/8-inch arm length … 8 7/8-inch arm length … Right-handed. Combine: 4.42 in the 40-yard dash … 1.56 10-yard dash … 2.58 20-yard dash … 4.43 20-yard shuttle … 11.64 60-yard shuttle … 7.07 three-cone drill … 26?-inch vertical jump … 10-foot broad jump … Bench pressed 225 pounds 20 times. If he's there at #59, he's a must-take IMO.
I'll also add that he won the Tatum award for being the top student-athlete in the ACC: http://umterps.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/121406aaa.html Say what you want about him but it's evident that Tangini's probably taking a very strong look in his direction.
I'm going to put up a 2 round mock with trades and one without sometime within a day or so... Any suggestions?
My newest mock is out. It is 3 rounds and includes two realistic trades. Well Darrelle Revis won't make it all the way to #25 and Jarvis Moss will at worst be an early 2nd round pick and probably a 1st. I'd be OK with Ramriez, but I'd prefer Josh Beekman. Why do we go with 2 OLB/DEs? I like Tim Shaw, but what will he play? Ew, Michael Bush... If McKnight makes it that far, that's a nice choice....
if revis doesnt make it we should either take houston or ross marvis mite make it, but if he doeesnt we could get brian robinson out of texas, I would expect josh beekman to be there but if he was i would take him in a heart beat. tim shaw could replace either barton or hobson, i think bush is underated and is a steal in the 5 th round, and Mcknight from notre dame would be great in the sixth round
