Just picked up a few Cds...... Type O - Dead Again, so far sounds good. Like Tripping a Blind Man. Machine Head - The Blackening, this release is outstanding, might be there best since Burn My Eyes. Havent put this one down... Black Sabbath - The Dio Years - the remastering of BS with Dio sounds great, three new songs, The Devil Cried is the best of three, all three are good though. Time Machine, Sign of the Southern Cross not on the CD, should of been included... Getting ready for May 19th at PNC - Machine Head, Megadeth, Black Sabbath.
HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES. I JUST WON NEGATIVA'S DEMO ON EBAY!! I'm sure a few of the other Gorguts fans here are familiar with the band, but if not, Negativa is a side project of Luc Lemay's. To quote a review on Metal-Archives, Negativa is "Obscura-squared". Here's a link for those not familiar with 'em: http://youtube.com/watch?v=P15eXnrsm-k And I won one of only 1000 copies to be printed! WHOOOOO!
Rush rocks! Check out this instrumental "Malignant Narcissism" from Snakes and Arrows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIGjkB_JJ90
I'll be at the Heaven and Hell PNC show on May 19th, a friend has 6th row, it should be a great show to start off the summer season!
Slayer really owned last night. Tom really nailed all his vocals, including the Angel Of Death scream. Good setlist. From what I remember there was: Seasons in the Abyss, Bloodline, Cult, Raining Blood, Silent Scream, War Ensemble, Postmortem, Angel OF Death, Mandatory Suicide, Dead Skin Mask, South of Heaven. There were more but that's all I remember right now.
Oh yeah we celebrated after with this "special" cake. It's pretty much left me unable to leave my seat all day. Quite a different high I must say.
How about Rusn on 07/08 at PNC??? I think I am going to go see Geddy and the boys. I'm debating on whether to go see G3(Satriani) this weekend at the Starland Ballroom. He's playing with John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert - two excellent musicians. I'm supposed to go out with the wife, maybe I'll surprise her We're here honey, are you surprised?????
I think Dead Again is the best since October Rust. I hear a little influence from each of thier other albums on this one. I can't believe Sabbath left those 2 off the record. Those are 2 of thier best songs.

One of my favorite bands. Paradise lost's new album "In Requiem" comes out May 18th(June 5) here in the states. The link allows you to listen to the first 3 songs on the abum. http://ecard.centurymedia.com/paradiselost/paradiselost2.html
Has their sound changed much over the years? The last album I've heard of their's is Draconian Times and it was really good stuff. They struck me as a band that was going to continually evolve their sound, kinda like Sentenced and Amorphis. Not sure why - just the impression I got. On the subject of upcoming albums this year there should be a few good ones. Off the top of my head: Behemoth Nokturnal Mortem Nile Korpiklanni Wintersun Drudkh There is surely more, help me out metalheads. Edit: I want to say that Deathspell Omega will have a new album out soon, but I have no idea if/where I heard that and if theres any truth to it. Either way, I hope they do.
High On Fire just got back into the studio. Paradise Lost is a band that I can get into but get out of very quickly. They are definitely a good listen, though. Check out Gothic.
This year will be great. Here's a list I've been comprising (avoiding repeating the Nile and Behemoth albums): Immolation Angel Corpse (re-united and re-recording!) Gorgasm (Kuntkiller, hahaha) Severed Savior Vader (they're re-recording all their old songs with better production and a lower tuning. Hell yeah!!) Morbid Angel! (WITH VINCENT BACK IN THE BAND!! FUCK YES!!!!!) Hate Eternal Morbid Saint re-release Toxik reissues MALEVOLENT CREATION!!!!! This year is gonna be killer.
Morbid Angel is recording a new album w/ Vincent? Fucking sweet! I knew he was back to tour w/ them but I didn't know about a new album with him. Great news.
The new stuff and also the last album (2005) are back to that type of sound(Draconian). The new one will have more double bass on the drums. They wemnt through a period of albums that were really different. "Host",probably my favorite album by them, sounds like it could have been a modern day Depeche mode album with heavy guitar. Definetly original. They add that influence to everything now,but have gone back to meta roots. Definetly check out "Gothic" as Abyzmul said, that is a great one.
