Wonderful. As if things haven't been awful enough, Joe has just announced that Matsui will be placed on the DL.

I guess this means that Thompson will probably be called up, maybe Reese...

Bernie must be kicking himself in the ass for not coming to ST

They already said it is probably Thompson.

Bernie is a jackass. He would have been in uniform right now.

Then again, it worked out better for us. What if Bernie was here, and they put Damon on the DL as a precaution? Then we'd have Damon and Matsui out most of this month.

EDIT: Plus, I'm still glad Bernie isn't here.

Thank God Bernie didn't go to ST. He was the worst defensive outfielder in baseball four years ago, I can't imagine what he's like now.

Even if he did show up, I'm sure Cashman would've made sure he didn't make the team.

Or maybe he is laughing in the face of the Yankees because they didn't give him a guaranteed contract to begin with.

Either way, it's sad not seeing Bernie in a Yankee uniform, as I've never seen a Yankee season with him NOT there. But perhaps it's best he didn't come, as he is getting older, and we all know he isn't the best in the outfield anymore.

Now, getting away from the Bernie topic. It's worrying to see that Matsui is placed on the DL now, but the outfield isn't my main priority right now. Let's hope in this series against the Twins that the starting pitchers can last more than 5 innings. Bullpen is already being used a lot, and it's only been 5 games in.

At least the Yankees miss Santana this series.

Giambi is having a pretty tough time at the plate so far. He's got the RBI, but he is getting absolutely fooled at the plate.

Yeah, Posada knows exactly what Ponson is thinking.

    "Damn, I suck."

Sorry had to throw in a Megadeth line, if Pavano keeps up like this we'll be a bit better.

I am just short of the desire to have bad things happen to Kay.

Pavano is on tonight. So are the bats. A good comeback game to put us on track.

I swear, how many times can you analyze someone pushing themselves up. He was not pushing himself up by the head, he fuckin tumbled and then got up. He didnt do some super skull fracture that Kay is going on about.
