Pretty good mock, worth a read for all of the picks, I would take Walker over Williams in the 3rd but overall pretty good, very happy day 1

i wouldnt take Tyler....its going to be hard to get rid of DRob and im pretty sure his cap hit will be intolerable...we cant move him over to the 3-4 end with all the signings we have made as of recent, so this move doesnt make too much sense to me, neither does drafting a OLB or DE with the 1st pick in the draft....

I agree with the Beekman, Williams, and Allan picks....although I would prefer Walker as well over Williams, and find some way to get Patrick instead of an Allan or even a Spaeth

Where's the CB????? I don't want to re-live how I feel about Tank Tyler.

I would wait AT LEAST until Round 2 to go for an DE/OLB if not later...

No way I want DeMarcus Tyler...

I like Josh Beekman... Solid pick there.

I don't like Paul Williams at all. I could think of a bunch of WRs I would prefer there...
    - David Clowney
    - Courtney Taylor
    - MIKE WALKER!!
    - Brandon Myles...

Michael Allan is a good sleeper pick...

I honestly wouldn't be happy with this draft.

Yeh I agree, Josh Wilson thrown in would be good, maybe instead of the Tyler pick, Moss is the top Hybrid in th draft, that is the only reason I would like him here, just going by value, I am for sure on the Blalock bandwagon but it would be tough to leave that kind of talent on the board

I do not know much about Allen the TE

Me too. I gotta say I just don't like the way he has things falling. Just like with Pat Kirwans draft choices, this guy really SHOULD account for trades cause there is NO WAY the Lions take a WR in round one, I don't care if your name is Calvin Johnson, unless they try to get Drew Stanton in Round 2, which they didnt, that makes no sense.

I don't think we address DE/OLB in round 1 and I'm becoming a believer in going Corner there even though I still like Blalock.

Its cool that someone did a 5-rounder (and sad at the same time) but I just dont know how realistic it is.

Pos is too undersized for the 3-4, Wright is okay, but better CBs that will be there than him

Isn't this Robertson's last year on his current deal? If not the most he has left is 2 years so bringing in a NT to compete with him this year and making the decision on who the franchise is next year would be prudent.

I would be happy with this draft for the most part. I am of the opinion that our signings this offseason were largely role players and until they prove otherwise, don't solve our problems. Furthermore, almost all free agent signings are not long term fixes, they are short term at best. Granted some work out for the best in the long run, look at Drew Brees but most of the signings and even the biggest name signings like Fred Smoot a couple years ago, LaVar Arrington, and Terrell Owens don't last long. That is why you build through the draft. So obviously my point is no free agent signing should dictate who you draft.
So the next thing to look at is what are the impact positions on our defense. You don't need me to tell you that the 3-4 thrives on a solid NT and great OLBs. Jarvis Moss might not be the best 3-4 OLB prospect but he is certainly one of the top. I still think Anthony Spencer is the answer there but would be more than happy with Moss. DeMarcus Tyler might be one of the only good Nose Tackle prospect in the whole draft. That would mean we would potentially fill our two most important positions on defense.
Throw in Beekman as a road grading OG, and a WR (Paul Williams is good but there are a bunch of options there like Mike Walker or David Clowney). I don't like the TE pick. I honestly don't see many TEs who are going to make a big difference so I don't see the point of pressing to fill a need if the talent isn't there. We could grab a CB like others have said, take a flier on a RB like Booker or Darby, or continue to fortify the lines. I think the Herm/Bradyway era taught us you can never have enough bodies in the trenches.
