I love the nonsense that "defense is the name of the game" - no, Keith, getting on base, hitting for power, and pitching are the name of the game. He sounds like Joe Morgan on opening day saying how the difference for great teams is their great infield defense. It really is amazing how people find it so easy to delude themselves based on their own careers.
The splits are just so extreme. Over this last 3 years Delgado has a sub .800 OPS against lefties while Alou is over 1.000. You've got to believe someone in the dugout is aware of this.
