    Jeter
    Abreu
    Giambi
    A-Rod
    Matsui
    Posada
    Cano
    Cabrera
    Phelps/Mientkiewicz

That's what I'd do if Damon is put on the DL.

Torre on WFAN: Mild strain, day-to-day.

    So it's not serious.

Jeter should lead off. Abreu could bat 2nd, or not.

That's how it should be, but Torre doesn't usually do what makes sense.

    Which means, Cano will leadoff.

Hopefully his thinking is that this is only one game or two at most. The lineup was very good on Monday so why switch anybody else out of position. Hopefully that's what he's thinking.

Doesn't Jeter prefer to hit second over leadoff?

No, he doesn't care. But a lot of other people do, they think Jeter is this magical force when he bats second (.852 OPS leadoff vs .841 hitting 2nd).
