FITM and I were just talking on AIM, and we tried to put together the two rosters to make a great team. Here is what I came up with. NL C: Jorge Posada 1B: Carlos Delgado 2B: Robinson Cano SS: Jose Reyes 3B: Derek Jeter LF: Hideki Matsui CF: Carlos Beltran RF: Bobby Abreu SP: Chien-Ming Wang S/U: Billy Wagner Cl: Mariano Rivera We would get to hear Enter Sandman in back-to-back innings AL C: Jorge Posada 1B: David Wright 2B: Robinson Cano SS: Jose Reyes 3B: Derek Jeter LF: Hideki Matsui CF: Carlos Beltran RF: Bobby Abreu DH: Carlos Delgado SP: Chien-Ming Wang S/U: Billy Wagner Cl: Mariano Rivera
1. Beltran CF 2. Abreu RF 3. Giambi DH 4. A-Rod SS 5. Delgado 1B 6. Wright 3B 7. Matsui LF 8. Posada C 9. Cano 2B That'd be my team. Although if we're allowed to drastically change positions, I'd have Jeter in LF, or put him at 2B over Cano.
I'm surprised FITM didn't choose all Mets players j/k 1. Reyes 2B 2. Jeter SS 3. Abreu RF 4. Giambi DH 5. Beltran CF 6. Matsui LF 7. Delgado 1B 8. Wright 3B 9. Posada C I can't picture Jeter playing 3B. I don't think he would be any good there.
I'll play this game. C: Jorge Posada 1B: Carlos Delgado 2B: Robinson Cano SS: Derek Jeter 3B: David Wright LF: Hideki Matsui CF: Carlos Beltran RF: Bobby Abreu SP: Chien-Ming Wang S/U: Billy Wagner Cl: Mariano Rivera
1. Reyes SS 2. Jeter 2B 3. Beltran CF 4. Arod DH 5. Delgado 1B 6. Matsui LF 7. Wright 3B 8. Abreu RF 9. Posada C
Since most everyone here is pretending by listing players at strange positions, I'll join in on the fun- C- Derek Jeter (from Lance Bass) 1B- Hideki Matsui 2B- Carlos Beltran SS- Jason Giambi 3B- Jorge Posada LF- Paul Lo Duca CF- Carlos Delgado RF- David Wright DH- Jose Reyes
C- Berra 1B- Mientkiewicz 2B- Cairo 3B- Zeile SS- Rey Sanchez LF- Henderson CF- Gerald Williams RF- Strawberry SP- Leiter, Gooden, O. Hernandez, Cone, Rogers CP- Benitez
C-LoDuca 1B- Delgado 2B- Cano SS- Reyes 3B- A-Rod LF- Matsui (Alou like 10 years ago) CF- Beltran RF- Abreu DH- Wright P- Wang RP- Sanchez (I'll take him on the DL over Wagner as a setup guy) CP- Rivera Coach- Joe Torre Batting Order Reyes Abreu A-Rod Beltran Delgado Wright Matsui Cano LoDuca
Well, let me see. Wright has hit more home runs in each of the last two years than Jeter. Wright has more RBI's in each of the last two years than Jeter. And Jeter has struck out MORE TIMES than Wright the last two years. Does that answer your question?
And Jeter has more hits in the last two years and a higher BA in the last two years so it goes to show that stats are what you want to make of them.
true, but I was responding to the poster who said "what the hell has Wright done?", ie., very typical Yankee fan arrogance.
