Question ---Suppose someone buys a PSL but doesn't buy a game ticket. Does the ticket for the seat for that game go unsold?????--- If i have the PSL for that seat -no one else can sit in it. The guy that bought the game ticket didn't have to shell out any money for the PSL. He just bought a game ticket Example --a guy knows he is going to be away for the football season on business. He owns the seat but he wont buy the season tickets. What do the Jets do with his tickets?????????????? They cant sell them to someone who doesn't own the PSL for that seat!!!!!!!!!
If PSL owners have right of first refusal , then the guy who bought the season tickets has it without a PSL. That is the way to go dont buy a PSL just buy a season ticket?????? Could it be that the jets CAN'T sell the tickets and they get stuck for it ??????? I Prob cant afford to buy PSLs for my two seats ---on side line in end zone
There are no tricks around it guys. You pay the PSL and then you get to buy the seats. If you do not buy the PSL, then you can't. The PSL owner will be required, by contract, I'm sure, to buy the Jets seats OR sell his PSL.
i want rights to every concert and every event in that stadium if i have to buy a psl for that seat.i want first dibs. metallica playing in that stadium i want first dibs red bulls are playing in that satdium,i want first dibs if the mutha fuking Wiggles are playing that stadium,I WANT FIRST DIBS FU AND THESE STUPID PSL'S
This thread is touching on the heart of the matter. These aren't going to be normal PSLs, where you own the rights to the seat and have first refusal for ANY event at the stadium. Not if two teams are doing the PSL thing. It'll be kind of like the Star Trek where there are two Kirks. Good Kirk.....bad Kirk. If you want to see Metallica at Canyouhearmenow Stadium, you may have to share your seat with a guy in an LT jersey. LOL. I'll bet there are negotiations going on between the two teams regarding this.
my feeling is for everyone to buy the PSLs giving us all ownership of the seats---BUT DONT BUY THE SEASON TICKETS the jets will be stuck with 80,000 unsold tickets----they cant sell them to anyone else as they dont have ownership of the seats
I beleive the PSL gives you the right to buy a season package, not any ownership over the seat. If you don't buy the season package I believe they would sell the seats by individual game. Besides who the he11 would spend 5K on a PSL and waste it by not buying the tickets.
well your wrong. You don't buy the seats, they sell them to someone else. Also, the PSL contract most likely states you MUST buy the season tickets. As per the "I want rights to everything in the stadium..." Remember, the Giants will be selling seats too...
That's most likely true and also what's most likely going to happen is the PSL's would probably be restricted to football events. I don't think every seat in the house will be required PSL's. But as a poster mentioned above if you own PSL'S for Jets or Giants season tickets, I doubt it extends to concerts, etc. I'm not a season ticket holder, don't even live in NY/NJ but I bet that's what's going to end up happening. PSL'S are bull.........
Like the PSL'S really matter people will still buy their season tickets . Now if fans refused to buy the Tix on that level they might think twice. Honestly PSL'S are a bad idea for the average fan.
Think some where along the way you missed something. IF you do not buy the PSL your lose your season tix it is really that plain in simple. The PSL comes before the renewal of the season tix
No.I did'nt miss anything . I was saying that with or with out the PSL people will still buy the Tickets, and season tickets. Even if it means the season ticket holders will have to pay what ever they decide to charge for the PSL they'll still poney up .
OK we are the same track now. Me thinks that many present NYJ season tix holders will not or can not ante up the money for the PSLs which will mean there will be many seats available once the PSLs are announced. I even suspect many now on the willing list will fall to the same fate bringing into the stadium a whole new crop of season tix holders especially if the PSLs are going to be for the FB season & not for other events as in the case in other stadiums where they were implemented
It only hurts the true fans.... A lot of the seats have been in family's since hell they moved to NJ . You know the Jets and Giants fans should stage a protest at Training camp stating that if they went through with the PSL's people would'nt buy the seats . And if they still went throughwith it we could stage a park out where every one would pay for the parking and sit in the lots to inconveince the new Tix holders.
Well U cannot compare the NYG season tix holders to the NYJ season tix holders since they have a much longer history being around then we do. At a max if somebody bought the seats in 60 then they held them for 46 years so far at a max whereas a NYG holder is probably in the 70s or 80s if they have been in there family since the onset of that team. Your other thought while it has good merit I doubt the ultimate end of the protest will in any way change the mind of Woody. Money talks & all else walks & the thought of recouping almost his entire investment in 1 swoop is to tempting to pass up IMHO
Folks, protest all you want, it wouldn't make a difference. PSL's aren't designed to help the average fan. They exist to squeeze very last drop of revenue from whomever they can. I agree it sucks, but this is the reality of the NFL. Remember, this is the #1 media market in the US. SOMEONE is going to pay for every last PSL. There won't be an empty seat in the house. There's too much corporate money available for that to happen. What will be interesting is to see how they negotiate the PSL's between Giant fans and Jet fans. Who gets first right of refusal for non NFL games? Do they flip a coin? Do they alternate. Pretty bush league if you ask me. But they get to sell the same seat TWICE. Mo money! Mo Money! Mo Money!
Not everywhere. When Gillete stadium was built, Jon Kraft emphatically statedin an interview that there would not be PSL's because the Kraft family (being season ticket holders for the longest time prior to their ownership of the team) didn't feel it was fair to financially over-burden the ordinary fan. The increased revenue they wanted was generated by the Club Seats, Corporate Boxes and naming rights. What I don't understand is why the new stadium needs PSLs to generate $$. A stadium like Gillete is only used 8 times during the RS. Your new stadium will be able to generate funds 16 of the 17 weeks of the NFL RS because it is used by 2 teams. Don't the owners realize that they will generate 2X as much revenue to cover the stadium costs during the RS than most, if not all of the other venues in the NFL?
No PSL's but their parking runs $35 per car, and then between $125-$200 for RV's, limos and bus. The Pats aren't charging a PSL but are more than making up for it in other areas.
