I sure do. Jarrett is a long strider. He's not sudden, he's not quick. All of these comparisons about his 40 and Jerry Rice's are really for naught, because Rice was a guy who lost nothing in and out of his breaks, and really, the exception to the rule. Frankly, if you watched him at all, none of his 40 times should have shocked anyone. We're not talking about the most physical of guys either. If I'm at the bottom of the first round and he's available, I trade down and take him later. As to him "torching" Leon Hall I wouldn't get too excited about that. Hall might have run a nice 40, but he looked like he fell asleep on more than one occasion. He most certainly does not have shutdown corner written all over him. When a guy has been training for the draft and training for the 40 and he can't break 4.6, that's really quite terrible. You wonder where he was at before he began all his training. Even Keyshawn cracked 4.5. -X-
I agree with a lot of that even though I wouldn't cry over Jarrett in the 1st I'd be happy going for a Craig Davis, Mike Walker or Jason Hill in round 2. These guys were productive, have good size and speed. Also, it wouldn't shock me if Jarrett fell to the late 2nd due to a few factors... Not saying I think it will happen, but it wouldn't surprise me...
I disagree with nothing there, but still, no reason to pass on him at #25. A lot of WRs in this draft have more speed than he does, but when you look at the overall package, I find it very, very hard to believe one could say that his value doesn't lie in that range, at the least. Like I said before, no one's denying he's not very fast, but what he does well, he does better than anyone in this class not named Calvin Johnson.
so what, Anquan Boldin ran a 4.73. theres a difference between timed speed and game speed. I've watched CB's who run a 4.6 cover WR's who can run 4.3. Jarrett is what you want in a player. if jarrett fell to 25 the only other WR id consider taking is Meachem(and thats if hes even still there at 25) point in case, you cant blame anyone for wanting to jump on a top prospect. and 40 times should be taken with a grain of salt, at least when theres enough proof on film the kid can play.
