I don't think so. They usually wait until the team is on the field, right before the pitcher starts warming up on the mound to do it.
Well, if he wasn't here, then yeah. But if he were here right now, you don't think he would have beat out Pavano for the Opening Day job? (I'm talking given all the other injuries.)
No, if he were here, he'd probably be filling Rasner's role. A healthy Pavano is better than a healthy Lidle... wow, "healthy Lidle"... very sad.
So Pavano finally "gets it." He knows this is his chance to prove himself to the fans. Good, now show it man. Him and ARod have their work cut out for them. Come on guys!
is mussina pitching tomorrow and then pettite or the other way around or is igawa gonna get a start in this series?
true, but id hate to see yankees fans boo at pavano if he walks the first guy or boo arod if he hits a ground ball out with a guy on second. WE really need to be patient, all this impatience just hurts the team
The crowd just gave him a standing O! No matter what anyone says, Yankee fans have a lot of class. Speaking of class, Bernie called Joe this morning, and said "You ready, Skip?" They talked for about an hour. I wasn't a Bernie fan, but kudos to him for that classy move!
Pettitte pitches the second game, Mussina pitches the third game, and Igawa pitches the first game of the next series.
