Here's my Jet's Mock, a little different than some, but fills needs with good solid players that have an upside. First, let me say, I'M NOT a fan of drafting a CB in RD 1. CB is a definite need, but if you look how Mangini is buliding the team, drafting in the trenches is the way to go.

Rd 1 Justin Harrell DT/DE Tennessee...A player on the rise, big time. Has had injuries and could have been a Top 15 player, if injuries didn't hinder his game. Played injuryed in the Bowl game and is a tough player that is smart and has a great motor and team leader. Justin will project to DE in a 3-4 and have a huge upside. Will be drafted in late RD 1.

Rd 2a Quentin Moses DE/OLB, Georgia...His stock has slipped, but would be an excellent addition at OLB. I know we have a bunch of front 7 players, but Quentin is too good to pass up and has potential to be a very good player.

Rd 2b Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware, ...Another player on the rise, the Jets have met with Ben and rumor is they are very high on Ben's ability. Transfer from Duke. Graduated, and is working on Masters, smart player.

Rd 3 Fred Bennett, CB, South Carolina....Good size and comes from a team that has produced good NFL CBs. I doubt Mangini will draft a corner in Rd 1 and Bennett is a good value in Rd 3.

Rd 5 Le'Ron McClain, FB, Alabama......Good tough runner, blocker and receiver. Not a great player but does all the above well to help the team.

Rd 6 Leroy Harris, OG/C NC St........Maybe late for O-Line, but Harris is a steal in Rd 6 and can play Guard or Center, nice insurance. Will eventually be a starter (RG).

Rd 7 Joel Filani, WR, Texas Tech.....Underated, very productive player with good size........a definite 3th or 4th receiver. Will help on Special Teams too.

    Comments welcomed.

I'm very happy with all picks in rounds 2-7. In fact, very satisfied.

I don't like going with a DE that early since I have faith in Kenyon Coleman. And with Victor Hobson, Bryan Thomas and David Bowens at OLB, I don't see a major need there.

We need two offensive lineman in the draft and at the very least, one in the first 3 picks.

    Pretty solid job though.

I'd prefer Woodley to Moses and an OT instead of a FB, but those are just minor. I'd be satisfied with this draft.

I'm pretty happy with that draft. I personally feel like most of our FA signings are very short term in that they may not be here by next year or even training camp for that matter so I like how that didn't dictate your picks. I love the Le'Ron McClain pick but I'm not sure the last time there was a successful Texas Tech WR in the NFL due to their scheme down there.

Actually, the more I think about it, another DE could be good since we rotate lineman so often. I'd prefer Quinn Pitcock from Ohio St. though.

Nice idea of going DE in the 1st... I might use that concept in my next mock.

With all the signings at DE I dont see how we go for more help with our first two picks on the D line. The holes are on the O line and one CB will be nice.I didnt think we had a 7th rounder. Hopefully we trade with San Fran to get back the 4th we gave them for Barlow.I think San Fran has about four 4th round choices.

We do have a 7th Rd pick, I believe it's for Mcgraw. I only drafted one DL player, Harrell, DE in the 3-4.......Moses projects to be an OLB. The only player that we have signed recently to stick for anytime (3 years) is Bowens, we can use more DE help, especially the way Mangini rotates the front 7. Harrell can also move inside to Dt in a 4-3 rotation....I like the flexibility Harrell offers.

Don't forget Kenyon Coleman... But I like the idea of rotating him with say, Quinn Pitcock or Justin Harrell.

I view Pitcock as more of a penetrating DL getting by more on tenacity then power. I admittedly have not seen Harrell play but every indication is that he would be an ideal 3-4 end and the current momentum has Pitcock falling to the end of the second and Harrell moving up to the end of the first. At the end of the season the roles were reversed but now the outlook has Harrell going much higher than Pitcock.

Also, I don't think we have a 7th... Don't forget about us acquiring Sean Ryan as well. I thought we did, but NFL.com doesn't say we do in their draft tracker...

EDIT: What about Brooks Bollinger, Doug Jolley and Jon McGraw? We got picks for them, and yet most sites give us only a 5th and 6th round pick on Day 2. Anybody care to clarify?

You are right about Sean Ryan.I think we gave another 7th to the raiders for Bobby Hamilton, but I thought we should have gotten a 6th for Bollinger, unless it was for 08.

Don't like it at all. You're ignoring OL until the 6th round??? We need to pick up someone who can play OG or OT this year, not another project.

We don't need an OT starter this year and Harris could start at OG very soon, he can back-up Mangold too. I don't expect many of our draft picks to start in 07. The need to contribute on Special Teams and help in situational play.

Many/Most of our picks won't start I agree. I've got another sleeper who can help in situational play, and could pay off down the road in a larger role. RB from UMASS, Steve Baylark. 1000yds+ in all four years of college, over 5,000 for his career, plus he's a winner, leading Umass to the national championship game...the type of guy Mangini likes, he's known to be a great team guy who works his socks off

That is by far the BEST mock draft I have seen so far WW85. If Justin Harrell is healthy he can be the solid NT the JETS are looking for to help stop the run. I feel that Quentin Moses will be a solid addition to help enhance the pass-rush. I can only see the JETS probably getting Fred Bennett with their 2nd second round pick and taking a TE in the third round like Ben Patrick and if he's not there, they could select Martrez Milner. The later round picks looks solid.

i hate it. we dont need a CB or a TE or a FB or maybe even DL. OL needs to be adressed in the 1st or 2nd round.

I like it alot. Obviously everyone would love to go offensive line earlier but I feel there will be a couple guys available after 6/1 cuts that can help out. You cannot fill every hole on the team in the draft and there is going to be some position that is not going to get addressed as early as everyone would like.

ok i will revaluate things if it makes you feel better.

there isnt really a need for a DL in round one.
quentin moses, is any ok pick but we have bigger needs then OLB. OLB can wait till round 3.
we dont really need a TE we just need to throw to baker more.
fred bennett isnt a bad pick.
we will not draft mcclain i want him alot but we have barnes and hodgins it would be a waste of a pick. WR and OL need to be addressed day 1.
overall not very good. that is just my opinion dont take it personal
