    25. Justin Blalock (OL) - Texas

I think this is a given pick for the Jets. We finally get the RB of our dreams in Thomas Jones to match up with Leon Washington to split the carries and we need that one key player to open up the holes in the defense so that Jones? 8 moves in the backfield can turn into positive yardage. He?ll look nice in Green and White. I was torn between Blalock and Jarvis Moss, but I feel this draft is deep enough in defense where we can get someone else later on.

    59. Daymeion Hughes (CB) - California

Everyone wants us to go CB in Round 1. I think that is a terrible idea. Darrelle Revis looks like he?ll be a good player in the NFL but I think our number one priority is securing the O-Line and while we can get Beekman or Ramirez in this spot, I think we get a better draft value with Blalock and we still grab a great corner in Rd 2. Mangini made Asante Samuel into a star player and he was a mid-round pick. I think CB is a bigger need so we go with it a little earlier and get a great player.

    63. Johnnie Lee Higgins (WR) ? UTEP

This may be the key we?re looking for to open up the slot position to become another threat for Chad. We need a reliable guy with good hands in this position and we find it with JLH. I think his draft value keeps rising and as we get closer to the draft and teams realize that they?re gonna get a good receiver for cheaper money.

    89. Brian Robison (DE/OLB) ? Texas

I stole him in the TGG Mock draft with Miami and he?s a great pickup. Guy has an amazing pro day down in Texas. Yes, I know we took 4 D-Line ends in off season but I only think 2 will make the cut after training camp. Robison can come in and become a situational player in the 3-4 front as an OLB. With him there our LB Corp looks like Bryan Thomas OLB, Jon Vilma and Eric Barton MLB and Victor Hobson/Brian Robison alternating OLB. Yeah, that sounds sick.

    154. Ben Patrick (TE) – Delaware

He may not fall this far but I think he is a sleeper and teams won’t want to drop and 3rd or 4th Round value on him because he doesn’t play in an elite division, so he falls to 5. Ben Patrick has very reliable hands and can block. He’ll provide the tall red zone threat we lack and opens up another aspect of our offense. Having dual TEs on the field will throw off defenses and can also open up the running game.

    162. Paul Soliai (NT) – Utah

He’s 300lbs + and we all agree we need depth at NT just in case. There isn’t much to say here except that this guy will require double teaming because of his size to open holes for our defense to get through.

    198. Matt Hill (DB) – Hofstra

I’m a Hofstra alum and this guy has great measurables. He’s a defensive version of Marques Colston in terms of being a talented sleeper that can compete on the elite level. His pro day stats are fairly impressive: Hill (6 ?, 219) ran 4.72 and 4.68 in the 40 and notched a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-2 broad jump, a 4.37 short shuttle and a 7.23 three-cone drill. We already got Hughes to definitely secure the secondary and Hill becomes a Mangini pet-project and with his track record of developing corners, this could be a good pickup. So the Jets don’t want to miss out on another possible Hofstra star and take Hill to round out the draft.

    Depth Chart:

    QB: Pennington, Clemens, Tui
    RB: Jones, Washington, Houston
    FB: Barnes, Tutt
WR: Coles, Cotchery, Smith, Higgins, Dwight
    TE: Baker, Patrick, Dearth
    OT: Ferguson, Clement, A. Jones
OG: Kendall, Blalock, Moore, W. Smith
    C: Mangold

    DE: Ellis, Coleman, Haynes, Wadsworth
    DT: Robertson, Soliai, Pouah, Mosley
OLB: Thomas, Hobson, Robison, Bowens, Chatham
    ILB: Vilma, Barton, Scheilgel, Kassell
CB: Dyson, Hughes, Miller, Barrett, Coleman, Hill
    FS: Coleman, Smith
    SS: Rhodes, Washington

As far as the picks go:

    1. Nice pick.
    2. Hughes would never suceed in our defense. He is only gonna be able to play the Cover 2 because he is not very speedy. Had he run a 4.5 he would be a 1st rounder, but since he ran a 4.6 - 4.7 and was already looked at as an only Cover 2 corner, his stock has dropped. He cannnot keep up with speedy recievers, so he will jut get beaten every time out. I would rather have Josh Wilson there, Hughes would do horrible in our defense.
    3. Higgins is a nice pick but a little high there. He has great speed, but not great height, and is currently looked at as a 3rd rounder. Maybe switch him with Robison, or get a better pass rusher or offensive lineman there, putting Higgins into the 3rd round.
    4. I like the Robison pick.
    5. NO WAYYYYYYYYYY Patrick falls to us there, in the 5th round!?!?!?! He will go mid 3rd round or higher. I doubt he last until your 3rd round pick, and DEFINITLEY not our 5th rounder. Grab him in the 2nd round, and that is fair.
    6. Solai is ok. He won't do much more than say Pouha though? He is basically a younger, less athletic version of Pouha. Not bad for a 6th rounder though.
    7. Don't know who this guy is, but it doesnt impress me. Those combine numbers are average AT BEST. When you told me in my draft that I like to draft players who are gonna be undrafted, this is the essence of that, and this guy doesn't even have good mesurables.

I'll take "players that won't be there when we pick" for $500 Alex.

Other than possibly Brian Robinson in the 3rd, who else isn't going to be there?

While I'm not crazy over this mock, it's realistic in terms of where players will go.

Ben Patrick may not fall out of the 2nd round, let alone reach the 5th round.

Higgins is a reach there, especially if someone like Hill can be taken.

Hughes is a nice pick. Blaylock I guess as well.

Not too huge of a Robison fan but its nothing too bad.

If that can happen I would do it, but those players have to fall to us first <__<

Also, that last guy, you call a 4.70 forty a good measurable?

I'll give you Hill and MAYBE Blalock.

The other guys go one pick earlier than you took them. Here is a more realistic version (not so good though):

    25 Hughes
    57 Higgins
    63 Robinson
    Rd 3 Ben Patrick

Hughes and Patrick probably won't make it to your picks.

I missed Ben Patrick... That's my bad.

He'll go mid 3rd and all of the sudden, this draft looks less realistic.

If we go TE in the 5th, Matt Spaeth, Kevin Boss and Michael Allan are solid options.

I would prefer Calvin Johnson at # 25 but that ain't gonna happen either. We would have been lucky to get McCauley at # 37 if we didn't give that pick to Chicago.
