Kerry Rhodes looked like he had potential to be pretty good this season. Cotchery could be a nice 3rd option, a may be able to get about 40 balls Chad has never played 16 games- and is coming off shoulder surgery #2 Bryan Thomas was the guy we picked instead of Ed Reed. Dwayne Robertson didn't really fit into this system. Vic Hobson had 3 career sacks, in 3 years. Jay Fabini needed a replacement Kevin Mawae needed a replacement Curtis Martin needed a replacement I wonder what pleasant surprizes we will get this year Any guesses? Time for Big Cotch to make a nice positive thread!
Justin Miller gets his head straight and develops into our best corner... That's the only 'surprise' I'll predict....
Very good points. Last year at this time I was optimistically looking at 7-9 wins out of the new regime. They made 10 and the playoffs even with a few oops games along the way. Nice to get an unexpectedly positive result now and then. I'm expecting 8-10 wins out of them this season. I hope they overshoot again.
If Miller ends up being a good starter, and Nugent can add a few yards to those kickoffs- paired with a nice draft, we will be in pretty good shape for next season.
Forgot pleasant surprises: I think Drew Coleman and Erik Coleman are the two people I am expecting to really step up this season. Erik Coleman has been quietly productive the last two seasons after surprising us all with his excellent rookie campaign. I expect him to have a blockbuster 4th year and establish himself as one of the top safeties in the AFC - giving the Jets probably the top safety tandem in the NFL. Drew Coleman got thrown into the fire a bit prematurely last season. I expect him to develope into a strong cover corner this season, although he may well do that from the nickelback role. He has the speed and quickness necessary to excel as a cornerback in the NFL. He's also not afraid of contact although whether he will be a strong run-containing CB is an open question.
Ben Graham fakes a punt and runs from our own 25 leaving a pile of bodies as he finally stiff arms Adalius Thomas for the score. He then celebrates with his own version of the haka , the referee unsure what hes doing fails to throw a flag which causes BB to run onto the field shouting obsenities with the vein bulging more than normal. All this does is get BB ejected from the game. Kraft becomes BBs #1 enemy and the whole Pat nation spirals into despair for years to come , they even have a new phrase...SOP (Same old Pats) Ha Ha man can dream
haha good stuff  - eric smith will start from day one, and will be our version of rodney harrison. - brad smith will be our new clucth reciever. - coleman will be a great DE.
D'Brickishaw Ferguson propels himself into a top 3 LT this year, adding about 10 pounds of muscle and becomes a feared tackle. Nick Mangold becomes one o the top road graders in the NFL and a highly recognizable center. Vilma gets accustomed to the 3-4 and gets back to form.
Mana rains from the heavens and ruins the new turf in Gilette Stadium and midfield becomes a mud pit again. A man can dream, can't he? I do see a couple of the things mentioned above happening, mainly Miller redeeming himself and Erik Coleman coming to full form alongside Kerry Rhodes.
Chad plays another full season. The Jones/Washington combo rushes for a combined 2500 yds. Jets win 12+ games, win SBXLII. This would be nice, yes?
