    01. RAIDERS - JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
    Al Davis loves the vertical offense and this kid has the cannon he covets
    ===
    02. LIONS - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
    If you don't have a franchise QB and you have an opportunity to draft one, you do it
    ===
    03. BROWNS - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
    Romeo is on thin ice, he doesn't have a feature back, feature backs make an immediate impact and save jobs
    ===
    04. BUCCANEERS - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
    Arguably the best player in the draft who fills a need - Bucs would race this card to the podium in record time
    ===
    05. CARDINALS - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
    Cards have a lot riding on Matt Leinart and they will protect their investment with Thomas
    ===
    06. REDSKINS - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
    Skins got 11 Sacks from their 43DE's in total last year, backups included, and that's just not cutting it in the NFL
    ===
    07. VIKINGS - Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
    While everyone is focused on DE's, Pat Williams turns 35, so they take the man-child with the monster upside
    ===
    08. FALCONS - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
    I have a hunch Bobby Petrino coveted his former DT when he moved up to 8, but Jamaal is a nice consolation prize
    ===
    09. DOLPHINS - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
    It won't matter who plays QB if they don't import a blue-chip tackle, you can't throw from the seat of your pants
    ===
    10. TEXANS - LaRon Landry, S, LSU
    It must hurt like hell to miss out on Levi by one measley pick, but Landry is a heck of a player who fills a big need
    ===
    11. 49ERS - Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
    Bryant Young has been around for so long he played with Steve Young, and maybe Montana too?
    ===
    12. BILLS - Patrick Willis, MLB, Ole Miss
    London Fletcher out, Patrick Willis in
    ===
    13. RAMS - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
    The Rams will say novenas when they make this pick, and pray he's not another Jimmy Kennedy
    ===
    14. PANTHERS - Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
    Here's the plan .. I dare you to double Steve Smith and leave the fastest thing on two feet in single coverage
    ===
    15. STEELERS - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
    Why Houston and not Hall? Because the Steelers are smart and they draft the best players, not the mock favorites
    ===
    16. PACKERS - Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
    If there are a million mocks on the net 999,999 are projecting Lynch to the Packers, so I'll make it an even mill
    ===
    17. JAGUARS - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
    Lost Grant and Senabaugh is a Pac Man in training, so I'm fairly confident they would jump on Nelson in this spot
    ===
    18. BENGALS - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
    By all indications Hall is a man of impeccable character, and "oh bother" do the Bengals need a few of those
    ===
    19. TITANS - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
    Never played with a decent QB at Miami so the production was lacking, but he has the tools to be a franchise TE
    ===
    20. GIANTS - Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
    Once he ran in the 4.3's at his Pro Day the TOP 20 was back in play
    ===
    21. BRONCOS - Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
    Gone are the days when Denver was stacked on the O-line, and just when Cutler looks like the savior
    ===
    22. COWBOYS - Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
    This is where the stop-watch can get you in trouble, Meachem's 4.39 will dictate a mistake, but I would take Bowe
    ===
    23. CHIEFS - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
    This is where the stop-watch is a Godsend, as the better Wideout falls to the Chiefs
    ===
    24. PATRIOTS - Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State
    Versatile and tough, can play inside or out, and that means you know the Pats have their eye on the Poz
    ===
    25. NY JETS - Justin Blalock, OL, Texas
    Jets continue to load up on the O-line as they seek to build a Super-Unit where it matters most, in the trenches
    ===
    26. EAGLES - Lawrence Timmons, OLB, Florida State
    When need and value are almost the same it's usually an easy call, though Jon Beason is another option
    ===
    27. SAINTS - Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
    Three Words .. Fred "Toast" Thomas .. need I say more?
    ===
    28. PATRIOTS - Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
    Harrison is long in the tooth, breaking down physically, and Meriweather has a ton of potential
    ===
    29. RAVENS - Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas
    Ravens wanted Staley but Denver beat them to the punch, so they reach slightly for Ugoh instead
    ===
    30. CHARGERS - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
    Chargers will be doing back-flips, but I'd hold the champagne for now, sometimes these USC Wideouts are Fools Gold
    ===
    31. BEARS - Ben Grubbs, OG, Auburn
    The expiration date on Ruben Brown is past due, he's already on barrowed time, and Grubbs is a talented Guard
    ===
    32. COLTS - Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee
    This was a toss-up between Beason and Harrell, but I opted for the DT because LB's are more easily found later
    ===

    JUST MISSED
    Anthony Spencer
    Jarvis Moss
    Jon Beason
    Michael Griffin
    Eric Wright
    Marcus McCauley
    Ryan Kalil
    Brian Leonard

    I've alot of respect for you Jabba , but do you really think that Blalock will fall that far? I would love the pick , but feel this is wishfull thinking.
    I also think that Griffin will go in the 1st round.

    I think it's very possible, Gus, even likely, but only because he's a projected OG or RT {most likely OG} and they tend to slide .. now if Blalock were a LT we wouldn't even get a sniff

    I have Staley rising so high for that reason, he's a projected LT .. and so is Ugoh who I have rising into RD 1

    That would be amazing if it did pan out like this.
    The anti-Chad brigade won't like all this extra protection just yet , we could get another 2-3 seasons out of him at least.lol

    Brian Leonard just missed? Let's hope he just missed by 6 rounds... Otherwise, I have no idea what people are seeing in him... too small to play FB, not good enough to play HB.

    I kind of agree , but I'm sure someone will draft him between 2-3 rounds.

    Nice Jabba... I look forward to your posts...

    That "Just Missed" list is what has me sold on TRADING DOWN.....

    Moving down in round 2 for Thomas Jones changes a lot and the list of decent guards goes deep into the 2nd round but, possibly not as deep as our picks.. I'd love to see them trade down maybe get 2 2nd rounders and then use the 4 picks to manuever to get 3 of these prospects possibly filling a G, CB and OLB spot maybe DL.

    Also.. I've been on the Calvin to Oakland and Russel to Clevelan Bandwagon for a long while now - Lynch to Buffalo.

    I like the pick, Jabba, with Meachem and Bowe off the board already.

    When I do my Mock for my own personal amusement prior to draft day, what I do, is take the players that the drafts leave after the pick we hold, and and choose the players I'd draft, but in this case you took that away!

    Blalock with Jones in the fold from the 2nd rd swap, would already make this an A Draft, IMHO.

    I absolutely HATE Brandon Moore as a starter.....Getting Blalock would make Sundays just a little nicer for me.

    Can't argue with the fools gold analogy for Jarrett, but he's better than every receiver not named Calvin in this draft in my opinion. If he's available, I hope we don't pass him up even if it isn't an immediate need.

    Good job as usual old buddy. Cant argue with that pick. Blalock to us would be a tremendous pick up, for years to come. T. Jones has a few good years left in him, and running behind that youthful solid core would be a blessing.

    This has got to be one of the best mocks I've seen, even playing into some teams tendencies, though I have a minor qualm with the Titans' pick, Olsen. Bo Scaife really proved himself as a more than solid TE (He's not a go-to guy but still pretty darn good) and Ben Troupe will be returning from his foot injury. Even if Troupe doesn't recover that well, the Titans already have depth at the TE position with I think three more decent blocking TEs and Scaife will be enough of a receiver to round out that position.

    My memory is a bit hazy though; Didn't the Titans lose their entire receiving corps this offseason? Despite the horrendous state of their defense I would see the Titans taking Meachem or Bowe to give Young a target (he needs a target before he needs a good one :wink: ).

    Oh and I forgot to mention how happy I am to see someone with the Browns not taking a QB. Charlie Frye isn't the franchise QB, he is the franchise. Watch any Browns game and you'll see that he raises the team to a whole nother level. That level being the NFL :). Taking Frye away from the Browns is like taking the Leprachaun away from Lucky Charms or Mr.T from the A Team.

    I'd say there is 0 chance that the Lions select Quinn, from everything I am hearing they want to focus on their oline while avoiding another Harrington mistake

    Their offensive line is bad, they had all those pieces you mentioned and their QB was still terrible. Just like Carr isn't bad, but without the oline his spirit was sacked out of him, I have friends in Detroit and they want no part of another 1st round QB with the way their oline is right now

    I'm not sold on Blalock. He has typical Texas written all over him. "Not a great technician, relies on natural talent" sounds like every Texas bust to come down the pike in the last decade. I don't subscribe to stereotyping players like Penn State backs or Tedford QB's, for the most part, but these Texas lineman are so eerily similar it's obscene. I prefer we get a technically sound, mobile guy in there.

    Nice mock Jabba! I like the way the pieces fall into place and I think that despite some people who are weary on Blalock that he's gonna fall to us and he's a natural selection. In respones to people who suggest that he's just natural talent and not a technician, my reply is that we can teach him. Mangini and our coaching staff is turning water into wine with our roster and now we have Jones in the backfield, we need to open holes for him to run through. This is a logical pick.

    Once I'm allowed to post new threads im gonna put up my mock 3rd draft and a mock offseason for the jets. Should be a must read :)

    Nice mock Jabba but Brandon Merriweather belongs there somewhere. Even if he doesn't make round one I would rate him ahead of the guys on your "just missed list".
